How to NOT use the teleporter bush!

For some reason, last night I decided to make an orphanage for all the little townie children that seemed to wander around my neighborhood. I made a Sim and made her move all these kids in...all 11 of them. I have one of those mods that allows me to have an unlimited amount of people in a household, and I had a tweaked Inge Teleporter Bush on the lot.

Ok, so that's one way of using the bush. But, poor Elenora was overwhelmed by these kids, and used the Matchmaker to find her a buddy to help with said kids. I used the bush to move the guy in. BUT, he was a college dormie! He did not transition into an adult!

    1. He did not show his career (if he had one!) and still wouldn't show it when he got a different job!
    2. When I wanted to change his clothes, none showed up in the display to change clothes.

The guy, named Chase Mace or whoever, was really ugly and I'm not sure if that gypsie was accurate in finding a soulmate for Elenora. No sparks. I turned him into a vampire since he wanted it (he was an aquaintance of Bender, need I say more?). He died on my lot due to overexposure in the sun. That's one way of getting rid of a glitchy Sim, huh? So that's how NOT to use the teleporter bush!

I used the InSimenator to move in townies (kids, too) after installing JMP's hack that prevents regeneration of townies. I went to all this trouble, and a lot of trouble it was, too, because I wanted to change everyone's clothes in case they showed up in community lot where I wanted everything to look medieval.

Anyway, I set up several households and moved people in. I decided that one of the households would be an orphanage.

In the orphanage I went from kid to kid changing their clothes to something more medieval looking and when I got to one guy, a teenage Orlando, he hated his new clothes so much that he got mad and ran away. I guess that's why he ran away. He never really said exactly what upset him.

Never had anyone run away before. Everybody was upset about it. The little kids cried all the time.

I thought he'd come back a day later, but he hasn't. Guess I'll have to visit and find out if he ever does come back.

The InSimenator made it all very easy. Summon them, make them part of the household, even make them members of the family. However, 8 people is the max in any of my households.

Could that be part of the reason for your glitch? Too many people?

Interesting concept...In my orphanage, I'm afraid we had to get the little tykes the "Old Fashioned" way...Mrs. Agatha Crumplebottom (wife of Joseph Crumplebottom, who is the brother-in-law of Downtown denizen, Mrs. Crumplebottom) has to go out into the neighborhood and "visit" (that is, move in to) a household immediately after the tragic loss of a parent. She then gathers up the poor, grieving children, and takes them back to the Children's Home.

I never thought of teleporting the children there. But then again, I've never tracked down Inge's Teleporter Bush...

LOL. He never said what upset him. Too funny, the way we ascribe so many human emotions to these little pixellated people. His needs were probably really low already and the clothes just tipped him over the edge. I had a teen close to running away once because there were too many babies in the house and he wasn't getting any attention, and there were diapers and bottles everywhere. I sent him to college instead.

From what I understand, Lynet, he'll come back the day before he's supposed to transition to adult.

Send him to college is a good idea. I'll have to do that, because I'm assuming his name will be on this list of teens you can import to the college campus.

Or I can wait until he shows up at home and send him then.

I had one of my adult males just leave as soon as I moved him in! It was a Legacy house, they'd just graduated and I moved the daughter back in with her parents first, then moved her fiancee in (I tried a couple of times as he kept walking out, not coming back, and not showing up in the Sim Bin either. In the end I saved the house, exited then went back in. To my relief he was still there, and he stayed put). I don't know what made him leave, though. It was a nice house and there were only 4 Sims including him. But he did soon after become enemies with his father in-law, who he didn't seem to like from the offset.

That's one of the things I love about this game...You can never be sure how the little simmies will react. I have one family where the couple had twins (Boy and Girl), and then the mother was killed in a tragic Satelite Accident. When the father remarried, Mrs. H Number 2 got along great with everyone - except for her step-daughter. I figured the step-daughter just resented someone else trying to take her mother's place...

I had one of my sims get married to a man who wasn't the father of her twin girls. One of the girls who didn't really have a relationship with the guy yet actually "cried softly" while her mother got married. When I saw her crying I freaked out and though someone was dying, but it turns out she was just mad at her mom.

Funny thing is that she was also still mad at her birth father for cheating on her mother, but she still didn't want mom to get re-married!

That's kind of what happened with my almost runaway teen. His single mom got married to someone who wasn't dad, and he never got over catching them in bed together ...

In PDL Peyton Delacroix was really mad at her father for marrying Isadora and not her mommy, Hunter. And Isadora's son Will was upset too.

But they've all gotten over it.

I once had a swinging bachelor sim with ten grandchildren finally tie the knot with someone who wasn't grandma. You never saw so many red X'd thought balloons as at that wedding.

I merged two families once, one where the dad died leaving the mom to take care of her baby girl all by herself, and one where the mom cheated one too many times on the dad and he (i) kicked her out, they had twin girls. They liked each other anyway, and had three lightning bolts, but I never did anything about it because they were married to other sims. Anyway, when she moved in with her toddler, one of the twins took a liking to her, while the other twin kept rolling up wants to bring her dead husband back to life. The kids all liked each other, and even the twin that didn't like her new step-mother was always going over to play with the toddler.
