Hi from Chan Salut! Feel a little silly doing this but maybe it's the best way to figure out how to work the threads? This reminds me a lot of those emails we send around to our friends with those all-about-you questions... Preferred Nickname/Name heh - I'll pretty much answer to anything anyone wants to call me. Politeness of response depends on politeness of nickname chosen. Favorite Book That's a tough one. I guess this week I'm sort of between favourite books so I'll stick with SHAM: How the Self-Help Movement is Making America Helpless. Kinda fun to read the purple prose. Favorite Movie That's another tough one. This week I think it must be As Good As It Gets, but usually it's something in the horror line.... Favorite Actor/Actress Hmmmm...this week it still be Angelina Jolie. Not because of her acting though. Favorite Game Charades. I admit it. Favorite TV/Movie TV show? or TV movie? TV movie would be The Changeling and TV Show HAS to be Wire in the Blood. Favorite Colour Gold no contest. Favorite Sport Spectating. Especially Aussie football. Or did you mean one I actually do myself? Does 20 minutes on a treadmill in the mornings count as "running"? Favorite Dessert sigh...so much food so little time. This week it's mmmmmmousse au chocolat. Something interesting about yourself God, there has to be something. Let's see. I saw a ghost standing by my bed once when I was a teenager.
Hi Chan, and welcome! How long have you been playing the sims? What's your favorite kind of sim to play (family sim, femme fatale, businessperson)? Do you have any pets? Welcome to the site. I think you'll find we're a pretty friendly bunch.
Thanx, yeah, I think so too - only because I read around a bit before actually saying anything. Can't be too careful in these wild cyber frontier days - use the wrong word and next thing you know it's a gunfight! Been playing the Sims since 2004, but that's misleading - being perfectly at home with my inner obsessive-compulsive, I tend to play the hell out of ONE aspect of the game before moving on to the next. So I have, ummm, 5? 6? villages now, with anywhere from 10 to 35 (37?) households in each of them. ALL for the sake of creating adults and their pets, designing homes, playing the various toys and EP features, and watching them hop from lover to lover like Days of Our Lives on speed just to satisfy my bloated imagination. I think maybe that means the Romance ones are my favourites. But it's fun to rock the Knowledge ones' worlds a tad bit. Only NOW have I turned on the aging, got them married, and started families. Haven't even had anyone die yet. So for all intents and purposes I am a noob. I'm venturing into the families, aging, deaths, dynasties territory only now. I do, however, have all the expansion packs and most of the stuff packs (with the exception of H&G - is that what it's called - since I have a deep suspicion of the Corporate Conspiracy). ccc
Welcome to the forum Cocochan. You seem to be a good writer. Lots of nice people here to give moral support for when your sims die.lol Now you are playing the real game. regards Moon
Hi CocoChan, welcome to WorldSims! Always nice to meet and greet new members of the forum. I know what you mean about playing one aspect of the game before moving onto the next, and I also haven't ventured into deaths and dynasties yet on Sims 2. My adult sims are permanently adults, and I never let my sims die. No vampires or werewolves or aliens or plant sims or grilled cheese sims either. Post some screenshots when you've been experimenting in your gameplay.
Why! Thank yew! "Now you are playing the real game" ...As I told my husband when we signed the marriage contract.... ccc
Thank God! A kindred soul. I'll post some pix for sure if I can get the attacher to work. Going to sort of report on them once in awhile as I go along just so some others of us more cautious ones can dip our toes in the water... everyone else sounds quite expert and all.... PS: Nice taste in signature pic art, by the way... ccc
Welcome Chan! I love the smell of newbies in the morning. (Darn, why does it always seem to be afternoon when I say that?) Hope you'll be stickin' around for a while, I like your style! You like horror movies, eh? I don't. I used to but ever since I saw the Grudge I've been a real wuss when it comes to horrors. I was hiding under my friend's blanket, practically cacking myself right there in her sofa and I was shaking like a leaf every time that scary girl (if you can even call it a girl) turned up. Man, that is one scary movie. And don't even get me started on the Ring (both 1 & 2), I thought Samara was going to attack me every time I turned a corner. But I still watched the Ring three times and the 2nd one twice!
I have an old TV that's hard to turn off and every time it flickers back on I freak. Man I wish I hadn't seen the Ring ... And, after seeing Scream I was afraid of my garage for 3 months. Horror movies and me, not a good combination! I'm too nice to my sims, most of the time. When I get bored I try to think of mean things to do to them. Like make them marry someone they have negative sparks for and then try to cheat without getting caught. That could be funny. I had a money sim become a vampire and she spent the entire time panhandling for simoleans, she hated it so much. Hard to get her into her coffin in the morning. (She's not one anymore.)
I just thought of something that's rather funny. In the Ring 2, there is this scene when deers attack the mum and the boy while they're in their car, right? Well a few days after some of my friends and I had seen that film, we were in the forest during PE doing some running (our school is next to a forrest). We ran off the path that we were supposed to be following and got lost. There were 4 of us and me and a friend thought we'd hide somewhere and scare the other 2. We ran off and hid behind some trees. We could see our friends perfectly and they were walking around and looking for us. A bush near them moved a bit and one of my friends said "Guys, we know it's you there. Come out" when a deer jumped out of the bush and ran past those two and off into the forrest. The next thing I knew, we were all screaming! We found the path aventually and we were late back to school with no other excuse than "we got lost and then we were attacked by a deer" *LOL*! Guess if our PE teacher believed us? :silly:
