    Un-movable object

    Hey all,

I have a staircase that I am unable to select, move or delete. I have tried Ctrl+Shift+C and then entering moveobjects on, but it doesn't seem to do anything.

It is just a standard house from the game and the staircase came with it. I am trying to take out the staircase to put a better one in. I can select a new staircase and position directly ontop of the original staircase though, which is weird.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

That's what happens when you use the moveobjects on cheat. :)

As for the undeletable object, have you tried reloding the lot you're on?

I just had an idea that might help you with the scary undeletable staircase. Try the boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true cheat. Then Shift + Click on the staircase and see what opsions come up. You might be able to delete it by doing that.

If that doesn't work then write back. I have another idea that might work too. :D

    Hey

Thanks for helping. Ok, I just found out what the problem was. It wasn't a staircase in there, It was actually connecting stairs. I have similiar ones on the front porch . Just selected that in build mode and demolished it :).

Kinda weird though when I use
boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true, and shift-click anything, it just picks up the object, doesn't bring up any options?

Thanks for the help anyway :D

Good that you figured out the problem!

I'm not sure if the cheat makes options come up when you're clicking on objects (never tried it myself) but it does when you're Shift + clicking on a sim and I just assumed that it was the same for objects.

I forgot to mention that when you've finished using the boolProp cheat, you should type boolProp testingCheatsEnabled false in your cheat box. The boolProp cheats can cause problems with your game if you don't use them properly! So use them wisely.
