Go download Merola's Multi Painting (link below.) After the baby is old enough so that you are able to click on its icon (a toddler) you can click on this painting. One of the options is to change the first name of the sim. There are maybe three sections of the painting where you can click for options. I think the name change is at the right end but I can't remember exactly. http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=30927
The name changing part is under a title like miscellaneous in the first section on the left. It's the same section which has aspiration, some of the personality stuff (DNA) and the like. The middle section has the rest of the personality stuff as well as the interest changing stuff. The far right section has needs altering stuff. It can also be done with boolprop, but I've seen too many problems with boolprop that I usually recommend Merola's painting. The painting is safe and it also works for both EPs as well as the basegame. And there's no need to make sure that things are spelled correctly, not left on when you leave or giving you options (such as force change) which can mess up your game (all of which boolprop can do.)
I downloaded the mod and changed her name, but now the trashcan outside is gone. How can I get it back? I tried moving the sims out/in, moving the lot and putting it in the house bin and replacing it.
No, but to tell you the truth I was more worried about the house than the family. I could move them out into another house, but then I would have to delete the one without a trashcan. I would perfer to keep it, get the trashcan back and play the game normally again.
Here's my suggestion on getting a trashcan back; I'm not sure if it will work, but you can try! By the way, this will only work if you have nightlife. First have one of your family members move out. Second, have them move into an empty lot. ctrl+shift+C and type moveobjects on. Go to your sims inventory and drag the trashcan into their inventory. Move your sim out of the lot and then back in with their family. The trashcan should *hopefully* be in their inventory and you can just place it back on the curb. Once all that is done, ctrl+shift+C again and type moveobjects off and you're good to go. Oh, and don't forget to delete the empty lot as well so that no one else moves in and doesn't have a trashcan. Hope that works!
Unfortunately I don't have nightlife. This problem doesn't really matter anymore because my friend wanted the game back. (we traded games) Unless there's a legal way we can both get it.
