    Hmmm...

Well, I discovered Parsimonious. And I love it! I finally got a downloaded outfit for my sims, which was fun. But I have a question. (I also got The Sims File Maid 2.)

I download the item, extract all, drag and drop the newly appeared file to The File Maid, and she does the magic. Everything works great. But then you are still left with the file with the zip image on it. My question is -

is it safe to delete this file? Find out in the next few posts!

It should be safe to delete the zip file, but if in doubt I'd leave it!

I made a folder on the desktop, called it Sims2 zipped downloads and have all those files stored in there for now. Of course, I never throw anything away unless I trip over it once too often.

When I download any of these files off the web I download it to the desktop. After unzipping it into the EA games download folder I move the cursor onto the zipped file on the desktop, left-click-and-hold then drag it to the folder where I want it stored. I would think that cut-and-paste would also do the job, as long as you remember to paste :p .

I would imagine that if you go through Windows Explorer to the list of the Desktop files, sort by type, you could probably highlight, cut and paste a whole bunch all at once, if you've downloaded a whole bunch of clothes all in the same evening, as I've done. Shopping is so much fun. :D

I save the zipped file into a folder I created in the Sims 2 folder called Holding, and I unzip the files into the Downloads folder. Is that bad? I don't know where I heard it from.

If everything in the game is working OK, then I guess it can't be bad. I assume the game ignores a folder called Holding. :)

I just delete the zip files, since you have already extracted the stuff you need from it with the file maid. I never have any problems with it. :)
