Hm ... did the parent previously have children taken away by the social worker?

I have had sims have their kids taken away have a new baby and it wasn't taken from them.

Did you forget to feed it? Have you had a lot of children taken from that family?

If not, I'd say it's probably a glitch.

Is it possible that Simsyth had too many people in his household. I mean, if there were 8 people already then the baby would make 9 and he couldn't stay.

I do realize the mother couldn't have gotten pregnant if there were 8 people in the household already but I thought that it might be possible to add people after she gets pregnant by using a cheat or something like that.

Or by accident. May be by forgetting to set boolprop...etc.etc. to false.

I'm just indulging in some wild speculation here. :p

You can definitely have more children after having one taken away. Duncan Olive had EIGHT more children after his first two were taken. =P

Well, then, assuming you didn't neglect the kid I'd say it's a glitchy lot. You might want to try moving them into a new lot and trying again.
