Help with Don Lothario I've just recently installed NL ( I know, but I like to wait for the worst of the bugs to be fixed before I take the chance) and I thought it would be fun now to play Don Lothario. I'd mostly ignored him unless one of my Sims wanted to invite him over. But since dating is now the name of the game and we have so many additional options available, I thought I might go back and see if it's not much easier to play him downtown. So - Does anyone have any tips about getting away with this cheating thing - this is SO not the way I normally play my people! His life aspiration is to have 20 simultaneous lovers and after a few Sim days, I've got him up to 6 loves and 2 crushes. Now my problem is he can't step onto a public lot without one of his paramours being there. The last two dates we went on, one of his girlfriends showed up half way through dinner and ran over to slap him. Now they're furious & he's going to have to apologize and work to get that heart back. He went down to the botanical gardens yesterday, not on a date, just trolling for new babes and 2 of his lovers were already there. Needless to say, he turned on his heel and headed back to the car before either one spotted him & came running over with kisses! I guess that's the tough part of having 20 simultaneous lovers!! thanks
Thanks for the laugh, Suzie! Personally, that kind of thing is what I sim for. The only thing I can suggest if you don't want chaos is to invite his lovers home and only have dates at home as well. Some of them may drop by but the slapping should be less.
didn't some one make a hack that allows sims to be in the same room without jealousy as long as the "love interests" were friends?
What I need is a "Big Love" hack! I'm currently playing a married couple (Gabe Barthelette and Elle Dawson) where both are romance sims. They each took turns having affairs with the the maid (Lucy Handby) untill, just for fun, I asked her to move in and be the live in maid and nanny for baby Bart. So far they seem to be sharing well, usually while the other is at work. I'm gonna see if I can keep all three of them together and in love until Gabe (currently an elder) meets Grimmy, then have Elle and Lucy get married.
Thanks for the advice SBW, I guess I'll splurge & buy him a few "fun" items for his batchelor pad. The worst part is, he's a lousy cook, so I mostly make him eat downtown! Now that I've found the main forum page, I've been reading some of your wild sim stories and enjoying them very much - I noticed a lot of vampires too, me thinks I sense a Buffy fan somewhere?? I only found this site by searching on "Don Lothario tips" and came up with someone's "so where are your Pleasants, etc now" thread. Then I found out about the Legacy challenge and I've become obsessed with my new family. I just don't know how I'm ever going to let any of them die - I've only ever lost one sim yet & that was Consort Capp, who had one foot in the grave to begin with. I must say that I love the sim hair in your pix - I've never been able to get hair and jewelry to download properly - it always freezes up my game and I wind up deleting the new files to get simming again.
Yes, busted. I am a big-time Buffy fan. I love vampires, even the watered-down version the game allows. Sounds like you need a more powerful machine, Suzie. I have upgraded mine a few times since starting to sim, including getting a new motherboard which meant I had to wipe everyone out and start over. But I'm glad I did because Porta de Luca is much more interesting to me than my previous neighborhoods, and I'm having a lot of fun writing stories about it. Hope you enjoyed reading it!
my game loads a little slowly, but it's not bad. But am I supposed to do something different with the "mesh" files? I downloaded some new hair yesterday & saved the mesh files to my download directory, but they're not available in the mirror when my sims go change appearance. I've had walls, clothes & cars come through OK, but never the hair thanx again!
I am assuming you don't have OFB yet and if that is so when you download the mesh and recolors, make sure they don't require that EP. sounds like you are putting them where they need to be.
