Body Shop (need help with the downloaded hair)

I downloaded both recolored hairstyle set and its mesh. I did place all of the file including the mesh into the destinated download folder. However, only certain ones showed up, the others were all represented by the original hairstyles that came with the game. Like this:

The hairstyle is supposed to be from PeggySims but it won't show up.
I don't know what is going on D: Please help.

When you see a Maxis style hair (or outfit) where you should be seeing the new content, it's because the mesh is missing.

You need to go back and find the mesh, which may not be on the same site where you found the recolor. It may be on a different site, which hopefully the recolorist has given a link to or at least the name of the missing mesh.

I almost download both hairstyle and mesh, all they are all in the download folder. They just won't work D:
Do I need to rename the new files?

I suggest you post the links to styles you have downloaded and we can then take a direct look for ourselves. Sometimes the answer is so blindingly obvious we just don't notice it until we're about ready to just go crazy ...

The file often won't work if you rename it.

I agree with Mirelly that we need more information.

oops, I think most of the file worked, they just don't have hair previews in the bodyshop, leading me think that they didn't work.

Sorry about freaking out on the board, next time I'll pay better attention :3
Thank you everyone for the help!

I'm glad you figured it out.

I've noticed that some makers don't get the pictures going with their outfits. It can be rather annoying. One thing I've noticed is that it can happen if there is some conflicting content. So, scanning all your downloads using the Maxis Content Manager or PHever's Clean Installer can help you find those bobbles.

But if it's not the conflicting content, I've found that if I just go into BodyShop and "process" it like it was something I was making (although I make sure that the original maker's info stays with the content, otherwise it's not rude), then I get the picture to go with the content. (For some things, like makeup, they just haven't changed the "swatch" from the default. "Remaking" it fixes that too, but with those you have to manually go in with your paint program and fix the swatch.)
