Private School and Absent Headmasters Okay, here's the thing. I'm trying to get my sims into private school, the first couple of times I called the Headmaster and he came over and everything was fine (didn't succeed, but that's not the point). Now I'm totally ready to take the 'Private School Challenge' again - lol - and I call the Headmaster up, he says he's coming. 5pm rolls around and the guy doesn't show up. As in, he NEVER arrives at ALL. This has happened at least 10 times (and I'm still trying). Can anyone take a stab at how I fix this??
The whole HM scenario is every so slightly bugged. There's a good chance that there is something now affecting the house that is preventing the HM making an appearance. First make sure that you have the latest Patch for your game: http://thesims2.ea.com/update/ If the patch doesn't fix the problem the next stage is to try fixing it by brute force ... The quickest fix is to try the redial method. Immediately after 5pm -- say 5:10pm -- call the HM again and -- in theory -- he should appear immediately if he has previously agreed to come ... have someone by the kerb to greet him A quicker and dirtier fix (if the lot is bugged) would be to move your sims out and into a new house. Alternative solution (to be tried first if you have no problem with using hacks Download and install Pescado's Lot Debugger (it's a buyable object you place in the house and then click on to access the options ... it might not fix this problem but it's worth a try because Pescado's hacks are very efficient and not harmful when used as directed.
Also make sure you don't save your game after calling the HM before he shows up... that also triggers another bug.
