Second Childhood My resident MD is two days away from becoming an elder. (I'm desperately trying to get enough points for some elixir, but may not make it.) Suddenly she gets an aspiration to "grow up well." I've never had this come up for adults. Wouldn't it be cool if she turned into a child?
Got the elixir with just four hours to go and aged her back. I almost let her have it - she got the birthday party notice and all, and I wondered what would happen, but I really wanted her to stay young awhile. I want her to become a Mad Nurse Practitioner. I've never had a character go all the way to the top of the health care profession. Being a nurse, it makes me crazy to have them be "promoted" from nurse to medical student. Yeesh. Medical students are waaaaay below nurses, of course, but the fact is it's two different disciplines. Like having a plumber be promoted to electrician. Same field, different careers. It's not a gender thing. I was married to a nurse. We felt the same (about that, anyway...)
Yes, the career paths are a little strange. I've never heard of Mad Nurse Practioner, though. Your elders can still advance in their careers, BTW, if they've got the job before they become an elder. Tyson Andrews became chief of staff as an elder, for example. Didn't know if you knew that.
yeah, I knew she could still advance, but I have plans for her and want to max out skills and so on first. She's kind of ugly so I want to keep her young. After she's tired of being a nasty woo-hooing surgeon, I'll let her run a flower shop or something. Or maybe have my poker parlor guy hire to "tidy up." I like keeping the docs humble.
