Heartwarming is good. The music and sound effects have always charmed and amused me. However, when I'm doing 'creepy' and 'dramatic' and 'action' plots for my stories, I have to get into the right frame of mind so I shut off the sim sounds. I guess I've gotten used to playing without the sound turned on. But I thought I read of someone compiling a dictionary.
What I should have said is, I found one of the dictionaries. The one I found doesn't have some of the words that Jiko uses. But it's a long post in the BBS of the official EA Sims2 site. I found the link by looking up simlish in the Wikipedia. Loose translation of the simlish I posted is: "Bingo! Cool!"
As with all translating, phonetic transcription is a matter of opinion. To me, I get the following (you'll have to add the tone of voice "Dag dag" = "Hi, how's it going, guys?" "Shoo flee!" and "Oh, abla? Sissa room!" = "I'm frustrated. Move that thing!" "Ah, woo hoo" and "Ooo ree!" and "Ella gonda!" = "I've really gotta go and someone's in the bathroom/shower/my way." "Doris bah gondoh" = "Hello and welcome to the Yummy Channel." "Doh fridan, doh fridan!" = "I'm telling you, it's true. I mean it!" "Ah, ha! Boop pah tay!" = "This is going nicely. I'm enjoying it." "Wah! Shabola!" = "This is going very badly. I'm going to lose it here." "Shur dell!" = "Boy, have you got that right!" "Vlock mahoy. Mahoy.
