Private/Public school help! I used a cheat (boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true) to get my kid into a private school, and it says in the business part that the bus arrives at 11pm but it's been 2 days and it hasn't come to pick my kid up! I just want her to go to a public school now...so is it possible to change back to a public?!?
Why would a school bus pick a kid up at 11 pm? Mine always come at 9 a.m. I don't know why it's happening, since I've never used that cheat. I don't think there's a way to switch back.
It allows you to access the code. The game is pretty glitchy without accessing the code. Changing things, when you don't know how it might affect the rest of your game, is risky.
Wooing the headmaster to get into private school can be quite entertaining. Why try to bypass it? If it all goes wrong you can come here and get us all to laughing with what happened in your game.
I agree. I don't think it's much fun to cheat on things like good grades, private school, getting their needs in the green, that kind of thing. I rarely even use money cheats, just when I have a specific purpose for a sim that requires them to be rich. I use hacks, but only those that prevent my game from becoming a BFBVFS (like the vampire fix) or that prevent me from going stark raving mad (like bathroom uses you. I got SO sick of my sims getting stuck in the loo ...) Failing is part of life and a lot of what makes this game so fun. I love flaming bags of poo and slapfest brawls and failed cakes and snooty headmasters and my sims getting in fights and crying their eyes out and passing out when they get home from work. I keep discovering new things, which keeps the game interesting for me. For example, I've always had happy families, so when I had a teenager raise three sets of twins (yes, I'm evil) I got to see "new" interactions, like tease toddler. I like the happy stuff too, but I don't mind when they fail. For example, I almost never answer those stupid chance cards right, but I always answer them anyway because it's more of a challenge when my sims have a setback. Just saying, you're missing out if you bypass this stuff. This isn't really a game you can win. It's all about the ride.
Well put! I couldn't quite figure out how to say it. But it's the surprises that are most entertaining, and you only see those if you're letting your sims work their little hearts out. Of course, that raises the question: Has anyone actually ever heard or seen a simmy heart? Sometimes I move my camera through one of those little guys by mistake and it's a shock to find them hollow. I mean, from the outside, they look like they've got meat on their bones. Sorry, I'm going off on a tangent here. But the only thing I've found inside them so far is teeth. Creepy.
I agree! Always answer the chance cards. I have two sims who were best friends in college. On of them I can't for the life of me answer those chance cards correctly - In fact, on the last one, he lost 30,000 Simoleons, and as he only had about 3,000 in the bank - well, let's just say we've had to sell some of the furniture...So there he sits, first wife killed in a tragic Sattelite accident, ZERO Bank account, in an unfinished house, just struggling to feed his six children... His best friend, on the other hand, is living the Simmy Dream! Cute little cottage by the sea...lovely wife...2.5 children..and everytime he rolls a chance card, I somehow choose the right answer! He's got almost 200,000 Simoleans in the bank, and reached Perma-Platnum without even trying! He could move his family to the biggest dreamhouse in town, but is happy where he is! But I figure, this is pretty much like life. I mean, don't you know people who no matter what they do, just can't get a break? And others, who seem to get everything handed to them?? It's the victories AND failures that keep the game interesting for me, anyway.
