Clothes options I noticed when children become adults, the only clothing option they have for everyday use is the same clothing of the adult in the family (of the same sex). Is something wrong with my game or is this the norm? It gets hard to tell them apart sometimes when there's a lot of action and two adults are dressed exactly the same! The manual says to go to the store and get new clothes but in the Sims 2, the stores are good for entertainment and food. No clothing stores. Or am I missing something here as well? Thanks. Mara
There are clothing stores in the game. I believe Maxis has some pre-made, or you can just make a community lot and build one yourself. Hope that helps, John
If you play one of the pre-made neighborhoods you can go clothing shopping at some of the community lots. If you have your own neighborhood you can add the pre-made Downtown, which has three clothing stores, or Bluewater Village, which has two, or you can just build your own, like John said. You don't need any EPs for that. You can also modify a community lot to include a clothing store if you like. Just remember to include a cash register. Or, you can use Pescado's clothing tool. I got it because having to always go clothing shopping was kind of a drag.
Oh gosh the clothing selection when builing sims is great! but when you actually move into the lot, you dont have that selection of clothes any longer:S
Once you find the store and buy the clothes, don't forget to put a dresser in the house. If you don't have one, when the sim(s) return home, it reminds you. Once you place a dresser/wardrobe in the home, you can plan each outfit or change at any time. As surprised by witches suggested try Pescado's clothing tool. Once you have it, you won't know how you survived without it.
