    School Bus?

I was wondering if there was some way to prevent the school bus from coming, because i have nightlife and have cars, my teenage sims take their own to school, or the parents drive the children, thanks, any replies are appreciated:)

To get the schoolbus to stop coming, just select one of your cars and click "CHange owner..." it should have a list of all age-appropriate sims. Just click one and their ride to school or work will stop coming. :)

I've done that, but the bus keeps coming, even though i only have one teenage child attending school (no younger ones)

You may have a bugged invisible item on the lot. (eg a placeholder for a sim who got diverted to a car after it had already started walking for the bus ... maybe you remember doing something like that?)

The easiest way to fix most plot errors is to obtains Pescado's lot debugger. It's a buyable item (found in Miscellaneous stuff >> miscellaneous bits in the Buy Catalog ... obviously this after you download it and unzip it to your Downloads folder ;)

Pescado's Lot Debgugger works with all flavours of The Sims 2.

To use it try the following options in this order:
1: Look for any entries in the Fix menu (especially "work state") ... run them
2: Check everyother menu item (except Force Errors) for possible fixes ... it automatically detects errors and reports those it "thinks" important)
3: Avoid using the Force Errors until you've tried everything else. Then ...

(i). Make sure all sims are at home
(ii). Make sure all visitors have been sent home (don't worry about strays or townies walking by)
(iii). SAVE the game - in case everything goes pear-shaped, in which case you can exit without saving
(iv). Run Force Errors --- choose "In World" or it will try to force errors on every lot in the neighborhood.
(v). The deugger will force an error on every object on the lot ... this includes every sim, every stick of furniture, place-markers, route failure stickers ... all sorts of weird stuff. Each one puts up a box asking you: Cancel/Reset/Delete. Choose RESET.

NOTE This will take a while and it gets really boring ... but it does come to an end ...
NOTE CANCEL is pointless you might cancel resetting the thing that's causing the problem
NOTE DELETE removes the item for ever (sims will reappear but they might be a bit confused ... :p )

Its scary cos it's awesomely powerful ... but used correctly it works wonders. I used it last night after testing out a theory about the social worker ... I never meant her to take my baby away so I zapped her with the reaper (why cos it was funny) trouble was another social worker turned up and all sort of malrkey ensued. I finally persuaded the children to stay but half the controls were broken ... I couldn't save and exit ... luckily the FFS deugger came to the rescue

Official World Sims Advice: Killing social workers is not big and it's not clever. OK?

Do you play with boolprop testingcheatsenabled true? Because when I've done with it set to false I don't get the pop ups. I remember reading somewhere too that your supposed to make sure you have it on false so that you don't get all the popups when you use his debugger, but that it should still reset everything for you anyway.

That's right, Shana. But the Lot Debugger forces the errors in the same way that Merola's Multimirror accesses a whole bunch of other testingcheats options ... :)

    Is this happening every time?

Check there is space all around the driveway slab the car stand on ... when a child carpools to school they tend to follow the driver right to the driver's door before the go around the back of the car to get in on the other side. If there isn't any space to walk around they won't go, once someone is sitting in the car a lot of routing option over the driveways disappear until the car has driven off.
