Isnt asking for Adminstrator password? Okay, so i downloaded The Sims 2, and i dont have adminstrator rights, so i put in the password before i downloaded it because it asked for it. And it worked, i know the password. But now that im trying to put it nightlife or university, it doesnt ask for the password, so it automatically just says i cant download it because i dont have adminstrative rights. Anyone know what i can do? =/
Do you mean install the Sims 2 off of a disc, or do you mean download; as in downloading from the internet?
Administrative rights? Isn't that a computer network issue? It's the sort of thing that happens where I work, where I'm using a computer on a network of computers. Or, perhaps, this computer is shared within the family, and someone else has been set up as "administrator."
Yeah i do share my computer with my family. See, my cousin gave my this computer, and he has a seperate account, which is adminstrative. There is his account, and then the other 3 limited accounts. When i was installing The Sims 2, it would ask me for the Adminstrative password, and i would put it in, and The Sims 2 downloaded. & when i tried to download Nightlife and University, it didnt ask for the adminstrative password to be put in. It just went directly to saying "You do not have adminstrative privleges to do this" So i tried to go into the adminstrative account, since i have the password. But its not the same password as the one i put while installing The Sims 2. Is that confusing? Its hard to explain.
But i cant even get into the adminstrator account. The password that i have works when i type it in from my limited account. But it doesnt work when i try to log in to the adminstrator account? But University and NL wont ask for the adminstrator password, it just goes directly to saying that im not allowed to do this because i dont have adminstrative privleges.
Ask your cousin for the password and if that doesn't work then there are things you can get off the internet to reset all passwords. Those places are high risk to get viruses though, so make sure your Antivirus program is up to date first.
Installers dont have the ability to install if a user account is not set to Administrator. If it's set to "Limited account", then that's set by Windows - nothing can change that, not even if you have the password to the *other* admin account. You'll need to get someone with the administrator priviledges to install it...or logon as the administrator. Of course if you don't have the admin password that's a little difficult, but there's a way around everything..
