Web2 Why is web2 so unreliable, my website is on web2 (rctmassacre) and it is constantly going offline, why is web2 unreliable and why does it crash?
There are a lot of possible reasons. Someone might be trying to hack into it? But, there is one reason which is causing it, I think. Web1 used to be unreliable, but then when they got the new server (web2), simgames.net moved the sites that were causing the server to be unreliable to web2, which are now making web2 unreliable. It's not simgames.net's fault, but the member's fault (I don't know what sites are causing it). This reason is the reason, I think.
maybe, but if one of the forum admin or site staff you answer then that would be very much appreciated
Yeah, I want to know why my site isn't working? So does everyone else. I'm not complaining, I want to know what's happenening.
Your website isnt working because web2 is down, I wanted to know why web2 was unreliable and when will they fix the problem, and when will all the sites on web2 come back online, so if an ADMIN/SITE STAFF could tell me then that would be very much appreciated
While Simsimius is correct about the initial configuration of web2, we no longer have an uneven balance of problematic sites on web2. The problem now is that there appears to be a stability issue with the current release of apache that is installed on the web server in which processes do not properly shut down. The other server is also affected, but apparently to a lesser degree for some reason (I suspect the Linux apache build is at fault, since web2 is Linux and web is FreeBSD.) I will be working with PSoft to see if we can determine what is causing this problem and resolve, but so far no resolution is available, so it's been a battle of keeping the server running as long as possible then restarting it when it fails...
So that's why. I was (remember, I was, not I am, but I was) correct. It was somewhere in the news archive (I read them when I'm bored), it explains a lot of things then. web has a different operating system to web2! I never knew that at all.
