Sims Hair :( Hey, right lol, im havein sooooooooooooo much hassle with trying to get hair 4 my sims, i download it, extract the files in my downloads folder and then bam... nuffink, and i mean like ive put other things on like a voodoo bottle and some coat rackie hack thing and they work fine, i just cant work the hair business, can any 1 PLEASSSSSSSSE help me PLEASSSSSSSSE ide be soo greatful!! please sam x
Sam, there are lots of threads about this, so you can search if you need more information, but in a nutshell, you need an unzipping utility AND the meshes that come with the hair. It's not enough to have just the recolor. You must have the mesh. That's the pattern that tells the game what the hair should look like. I recommend getting Sim File Maid, because she installs everything for you, rar or zip, in one easy step. There's a link somewhere on this site or you can search for it on the web. Make double sure you have the mesh. That's the key. Even if you think you have it it doesn't hurt to redownload it. Good luck.
ive looked threw them all, and also i do have the sims maid lady thing, maybe its the site i use i mean like ive tried loads, can any 1 recomenced sum or any fing :(
A lot of hair ends up in the custom hair bin. Also make sure you have the MESH file for the hair you download. Make sure you read carefully the instructions the website you download from. It should say if the mesh is included or provide a direct link to download the mesh separately. DO NOT download anything that has a download link that looks like this: download (mesh from AlbanianSims.eu) It's useless because doesn't say if the mesh is included in the download, it doesn't give a link to the mesh site ... it's flipping useless. I don't care how much you think the hair is desirable and "must have" if the downloads are not explicitly clearly described then the chances are the quality of the downloads is poor as well and you're better of without them. A good website will offer downloads like these examples download (new mesh included) download (mesh required - get it here courtesy of albaniansims.eu) or at a pinch download (mesh from albaniansims.eu - it's the third hair on page 11 of the hair section) See what I mean? If the instructions are NOT utterly specific and absolutely explicit then walk right on by and go to the next download site.
