basement how do you build basements on the sims2because always fail when i try and am starting to wonder i it even possible

you welcome when i played sims 2 for the first time i didn't have internet and i saw a basement in one of the houses that came with the game, so i decided to build a house with a basement but it was so hard i tried a lot of times until i finally did one and i really get proud of myself because i've discovered how to build a basement by myself lol but it would be much more easier if i just have internet and had search for a tutorial lol
