Spiderman 3 - Bust or Smash hit?

I'm hearing lots of mixed reviews, so what are your thoughts to the latest movie in the Spiderman Saga

I saw it the day it came out and I found it really good. There were some really funny moments in the film, but they could have made the game a bit less violent - but somehow that was also what kept the film going. Spidey was fighting 3 different villains  (note that I'm not giving away the end)! It's a wonder that Spidey didn't just get killed on the spot by all three of them!

What I liked most in the film was when Peter turned 'bad'. It was soo funny. I was practically wetting myself :)sour:) at this one point when Peter was doing his little dance thing after he had gotten his new black 'bad-***' costume!! And his hair looked really silly! Oh, I just loved the new Peter! Hahahahaaa :rotfl:

I most definitely recomend this film. But, personally, I didn't think it was the best film in the world. It was Good - not The Best.

NOTE: that you might not find the dance/hair thing as funny as I did. (I'm known to have a bad sense of humour. :bitelip:)

    *Possible Spoilers*

I've seen SM3 twice so far. After all of the hype the movie receieved I'm actually rather disappointed with it... Venom was only in the movie for all of 15 minutes and they didn't exactly have to many "full shots" of him (lack of a better word). Most of them were quick little scenes of him jumping around or something.

Although Topher Grace is a decent actor, and was funny as Eric Foreman on That 70's Show, I don't feel that he was cast correctly as Venom. From anything I've seen in the TV shows or comics is that he is more of the jock-build, instead of a pencil-pusher.
...But fine, I can get over that one.

Another thing I didn't care for was how Harry gets amnisia about his feud and loathing of Parker/Spider-Man, then remembers it, only to have the butler say he "cleaned his father's wounds and they were from his glider - he died by his own hand". Now why didn't the butler tell Harry about this several years back when he could see that the death of Norman was causing Harry so many issues and pent up anger.
Why did he only now, awkwardly I might add, tell him?

Also, after Harry finds out the belated truth he just shows up near the end with absolutely no questioning of Peter and starts helping him. Not a word about anything. Pretty weird given their history.

Next up is how Flint Marko killed Ben Parker. In the comics that never happened as it was the other guy, "the accomplice", who stole the money from the wrestling matches. Why did they have to throw in that little detail when it just makes the story more awkward by giving Parker a larger guilt-complex... and then making it turn out like Flint "accidently" shot Ben so he's just a decent guy thrown into a bad situation, blah-de-blah.

The symbiote is a living thing that takes over the host. They can't just take off their costume and not wear it like when Peter throws it in the chest. It actually bonds.
With that being said, why was Peter able to take it off so readily when he first gets it (like a shirt), but later it's suddenly stuck to him like glue.

Emo Parker: Do I really need to explain this one? The symbiote enhances the aggressiveness... not the ability to look like no one understands your problems, and dance. Sure it got some people to laugh (myself included), but it was a lame joke, and even worse portrayal of what it does to the host. It seemed more like they were trying to play it all off as a big larf than taking the character seriously.

With that being said there were some amusing parts, but overall I found myself looking at my watch wondering how much longer compared to the other two where it seemed like they were over too quickly.
If there is a fourth film I seriously hope that they do something better with it, and stop trying to get cheap laughs.

My main feelings for the movie are that if you're a fan you probably won't like how they put some of the things down on film... but it isn't a horrible way to spend 2 hours compared to other Marvel movies.

    Contains Spoilers (probably)
You know what, I agree with you on that one. I found it really strange that Harry didn't question Peter a bit about the truth. And they made it pretty obvious that Harry actually would turn up in the end and fight along on Peter's side... That was a bit of a bummer..

And I found it rather annoying that Harry made MJ break up with Peter and you never really found out if she actually did have feelings for Harry or not.. MJ just hugged Peter in the end. No sorries, no back togethers.. Just a hug. Which makes you wonder if they made up or not and made the film end kind of cliffhanger-ish (which was probably what the director wanted), but still.

I found it a bit annoying that when MJ wasn't in peril, she was moaning all the time to Peter. I think that the only scene in the movie that she actually was happy was the omelette bit with Harry.

All in all, I still think the movie was pretty good, anyway.

i watched Spideran 3 and really enjoyed the movie! I was expecting it to be average however i would say that it beats Spiderman 1 and 2 easily. Very happy with the movie and would be happy to see another one if it has similar quality.

Now for Ocean's 13 and Pirates of the Caribbean 3 :)
