Because I'm Testing The New Downloads Because I'm testing the new downloads database for Josh I've been making lots of lots. Here's a hack free dorm. 8 good sized rooms each with desk, chair, good single bed, dresser etc.. Male and female bathrooms configured to work with Pescado's bathroomusesyou hack (not included). Study hall with 8 computers + bookcases and plenty of comfy chairs. Large TV room with plenty of comfy chairs. Huge basement with pool, gym, two double bedrooms Flat roof with stairs to access. Huge refectory with 12 dining positions, plus separate cooking facilities for students. Basic skilling objects present include mirror in every bedroom, chess board, artist's easel. Plenty of room for adding band equipment, pool table ... anything you want. Requires: University, Nightlife, OFB, Pets, Seasons. Party Pack, Glamour Life and Celebration Stuffits
Amazing. I'm in awe. OK, I'm going to download it although I don't know when I'll get to play with it, what with story contests and all. But I may get the urge to go back to University just to see what this dorm is like. Oops, just noticed the stuff packs required. What happens if you don't have them?
I've been forgetting to add the rpicing. The dorm costs $384 per head for the first bills ... should get cheaper as depreciation kicks in. I wouldn't worry about the stuffits with buildings. Stuffits don't contain building items. I'm sure I didn't use any glamour/celebrations furniture. Easiest way to be sure is to test in a safe place do this: Rename the My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/ to _MY_The Sims 2 (Note that underscore at the start - keeps the folder at the top of the list) Now restart the game and delete all but one Maxis neighborhoods (this will make the new Sims 2 folder very small Exit and install custom content to test and restart game (be amazed at quickly it starts ) If new custom content works OK, fine. If buildings almost work but have missing furniture, replace and resave and if OK after that repackage. When you are ready to go back to your own games just rename the new shiny compact folder to _Vanilla_The Sims 2 and remove the _MY_ from the original folder's name. This sounds more complicated than it is, but it works a treat for testing custom content before putting in your precious games. If you defrag regularly this name changing back and forth should be quite harmless since nothing is being moved or changed physically.
hear hear! (or should it be here here!) I know I'm going to have to create a university for Riverblossem soon so any thing that makes it easier is appreciated. Thanks Mirelly
