How to stop NPCs from calling Hello, I'm new here and I wonder if anyone has the same problem (in fact, I am sure you have, I just wonder if you think it's a problem ). So your child brings a friend home from school one day, and although you disapprove of this friendship and immediately ask this friend to leave, he/she keeps calling your child. then the child becomes an adult, but he still receives these calls from the NPC, who is still a child!!! Isn't it ridiculous? This is also extremely irritating, because, having several people in the house, sometime the phone keeps ringing all day long, and this is invariably some Marsha Bruenig wanting to speak first to one of the adults, then to another and then yet to another. I have never killed a Sim in my life, but I was already beginning to think about moving all these NPC children in and killing them in a bunch. Unfortunately, it does not seem possible. So, is there a way to stop this? Thank you.
You have met the irrepressible Marsha, the number one Sims 2 pest, the child that everyone loves to hate. There are some game mods around where you can adopt townie kids and grow them up. Marsha turns out to be quite attractive. In the meantime, there is a list of hacks you might want to look through over at MATY No townie regeneration is one, for example. There's also a phone hack that may help. I haven't used it. Others like it. Oh, the MATY site jokes around about paying, but the downloads on that list are free.
couldnt you just invite her over and then start irritating her and have an arguement then marsha would stop calling wouldnt she? if not just delete the phone and when you need to use it buy a new one and then delete it you wont loose anymoney because the object only loses its value after being used a few times
Kids can't fight, can they? I had a thread about this a while back, and yes, it is so irritating!! I always make the kids my Sim children bring home leave. I actually usually have to delete all the phones because it's ringing all the time from stupid old childhood friends calling. Then I just add one when I need to call someone or get a taxi. It is sort of a hassle, but I hate when the phone rings for HOURS. Honestly, who stays on the phone for an hour listening to it ring? That's what the sims do, in their "sim hour".
hate to sound like an idiot- but although I know what NPC's are I don't actually know what NPC stands for. Could somebody tell me please? It's starting to annoy me Rozza xxx
I never knew what it stood for either, although I knew what they were talking about. I had thought it was "Neighborhood People C(?)" or something. Never knew what the C would be tho..
It's also interesting that there are a variety of NPCs, some which can become Playable, and some that can't. There are NPCs we sometimes call Townies, adult sims that your playable sim can befriend and marry or invite to move in. Teenage NPCs were strictly Non-playable (without cheats) until the University EP. Playable sim teens were always falling in love with NPC teens that never grew up. Makes me think of Peter Pan. If you have the Uni EP, however, you can now move Tosha Go and friends to the college town and make them playable. The Uni doesn't help with the child NPCs, though. I spent ages trying to adopt the nuisance child, Marsha. Then I found a hack, and now, I believe, there is a cheat available in game that might allow it, although I haven't tried it yet. Finally, there are the "default" NPCs, like the social bunny and crazy doctor. Mrs. Crumplebottom is one of those, too. I've heard it's very bad for your game if you mess with these characters. Best to download a clone, instead.
oooh I didn't realise there was a difference between NPC's and townies. Thank you, lynet. Interesting stuff. I haven't come across Mrs. Crumplebottom though (I would remember a name like that! ) where is she from? I assume an EP I haven't got yet. sorry, I seem to be dragging this thread further and further off topic.
Hi, Vattuflickan I don't know if you already got enough information or not or if you'll even want to do this, but I had to download something called T2S? (I forget, I'll have to get home and look up the name) which can modify your game. I think SimsPE(?) does the same thing. (I'll get home and look it up and see if I can modify this post later.) Anyway, they were really easy to download and I just deleted the annoying characters right out of my neighbourhood! The T2S(?) costs $20 though. The other one was free. Haven't seen the annoying characters since. Just thought I would mention it in case you still had this problem - also I'm practicing posting as this is my second post! ccc
Mrs. Crumplebottom comes with NL. When you're at a community lot, she sometimes likes to come by and swing her purse at people. She likes to stand somewhere and knit grumpily as well. I love Mrs. Crumplebottom. She is by far my fav NPC.
