Map Downloads Inabling I just downloaded a bunch of maps, or new neighborhood (whichever), and I thought that they had been installed, but they don't seem to be showing up when I wish to create a new neighborhood. How would I be able to put these custom maps as one of my choices? (and is this is the right thread?)
I downloaded it, unpacked it, and put it in my downloads folder, just like everything else I've downloaded, but it doesn't seem to work.
Oh, yeah, that worked. Thank you so much. I have one last question, however. I noticed that when I create certain neighborhoods then the camera will only alow me to veiw a part of the map when I know it is bigger than that. (Sorry for being picky, I'm just wondering. >.<) Do you think that it is just an error in whoever created the map, or would it be something else?
Yes, I have rotated the cameras. I'm guessing now I need to download a new camera mode for some of these, so I'm trying to, but none are working so far.
If you created the map (terrain) in Sim City, when you transport it over to The Sims 2, you will only be able to use about the middle third to half of the original map. This means that when you are creating your terrains in Sim City, concentrate on the middle section, and make sure that is how you want your neighborhood to be. I usually add mountains or water to the edges of my maps...they add interest to the distances when you are playing within a neighborhood.
Umm, I'm not sure if this is the right place to bring this up (really sorry if it's not) but I've been having a similar problem with lots. I install them like normal and they're in my Downloads file alright but don't show up in my game. Is there any mysterious place where I should place them that I'm not aware of?
Hmmm - Good question..Most of the lots I have downloaded are packaged, which means that once I've downlowded a lot to my desktop, I double click it, anf the package mechanism automatgically installs the contents to where ever it is they need to be...Not sure what to do if the lot needs to be installed manually...
