Multiple Expansion Packs I bought OFB and i want to buy another expansion pack...how does it work...if i get nightlife and i use that cd to play the game...will all of the OFB stuff still work while I'm using the nightlife cd?
Hi. You use the last installation CD. Eg. If you have Sims 2 and ofb, then use ofb disk. If you add nightlife then use that disk. However if you use stuff Packs then you don't use stuf pack Cd's. Try to install them in order of creation.
Yes, so you install NL and then OFB. Games can go a bit funny sometimes if they aren't installed in the order that they came out in. Don't forget to back up your TS2 folder (I believe you find it in My Documents) before you install! :classic:
Everyone always talks about installing the EPs in the order that they were released but I didnt do that and my game runs perfectly fine.
The official word from Maxis is that they CAN be installed in any order - they were designed to be that way, unlike The Sims 1. However, Maxis also recommend installing in order where possible to minimise any risk of problems occurring. Personally, I install in the order of release. Moon is right - you use the CD of the last EP you installed to play the game. Let us know how it goes if you install NL after OFB.
I believe that is not correct. I think you need to use the CD of the last released game as it's a more current version. Someone else had that problem around 6 months back and finally realized they needed to use the OFB CD instead of Nightlife even though they just installed nightlife...I'm pretty sure that's what happened anyway. Anyway, if it doesn't work with one CD try the other.

Hmmm, that's what I get when I go to bed at 4am and wake after little sleep and then try to function and think. Yes it IS the last released EP's CD that you use.
