When I load a house or family, it either stays there forever or has no toolbar help!!

I can't play my sims 2 at all because If I load a family and it DOES load the status and toolbar doesn't show, its just blank. If I order the sim to do something it doesn't, it just stays there frozen, but I can still angle the camera and move things around.

I do have custom content, and I tried uploading the family or lot WITHOUT the custom content by turning off the custom content, and it didn't fix itself, so I don't think its the custom content. All custom lots were removed and it still didn't work. Help?

I have all required expansions for the custom content.

It is probably a problem brought on by your custom lots. Custom lots are invariably a big source of problems within games. However, the helpful technical people at this site need a little more information about your computer, since the reason for your problems might actually be a computer issue. Please provide the information as explained in this post:

And p.s. One quick thing to try is to move your downloads folder (by grabbing the folder itself) out onto the desktop. Then see if the game works. If it does, it's a download problem. This does not, of course, help at all if the problem is related to one of the lot downloads, since they aren't in that folder.

Check the FAQs if you don't know how to find your specs (computer secifications). :)

Also, patches could help you out. Got any of those? Find them at http://thesims2.ea.com/update/. I'm not sure that they will fix anything but it's worth a try.
