The Strange Case of the Morphing Android Man! Okay, so I've had this family that I created shortly after installing Seasons. The father, River St. Auberon, was created in CAS, using all Maxis content. (Hair, eyes, etc.) Recently, I installed Heleane's Replacement Skins (which look great, by the way!) So here's my problem. The last time I visited the St Auberon household, dad had suddenly morphed into this strange, alien-eue android-looking creature, whith his face constantly shifting, as though it were a TV and some couch potato was channel surfing! I have play all of my housholds sins installing Heleane's replacement skins, and no one else has been inflicted. Also, he is the ONLY person afflicted in his household. Finally, If he shows up on another lot, he is perfectly normal! Any ideas? Anyone seen anything like this before? Not sure if it's related to Helaene's skins or not, since it ONLY affects this one sim. Pics attached: 1) River St Auberon - How he's supposed to look! 2) River - Just as he's starting his morph-cycle. Notice slight paling of the skin and the disappearance of facial hair. 3) River - Green Test Pattern 4) River - Grey Test Pattern 5) River - Blue Man Group By the way, I'm on a G4 Mac Powerbook, 1.2GB Ram. It is slightly under spec for all of the EPs, but other than running a little sluggishly, and this weird morphing thing, I've never had any other problems with running the game.
? LOL ... is that a neologism for, 'like a revolting alien'? Sacha, I can't offer any great insights but my first response would be to remove the default replacement skins and see what effect that has. How large is the St Auberon family home? How large is the family (sims and pets and others (eg, remote control car, parrot etc.)? To be honest it looks like a simple graphical overload. You might consider investing a few spare bucks on a decent laptop cooling pad if your Powerbook is getting very warm during game play ... and especially if it gets too warm for comfort to be on your lap (which of course one should never do anyway ... ... but the term laptop practically begs one to try it, doesn't it?
Well...I don't know what happened, but when I went back into the St Auberon lot today, River was back to normal! No flashing, neon face! (Thank goodness!) I hadn't done anything different, so I'm not sure what caused the problem or what cured it. Oh well...Here's hoping the Invasion of the Body Snatchers has been stopped int it's tracks!
