looking for a file... so, some of us have been having problems installing or re installing the Sims2 and I'm one of them. I was wondering... A. If I'm missing a file from disc 3 of the stock game, like say... "TSData\Res\Movies\intro_eng_audio.movie" is it illegal 2 have someone e-mail it to me? and B. If not, is there anyone that can? Thanks, I've had this game work before but I uninstalled it to make room for "ArmA Combat ops" *great game* but now I upgraded my computer... ok, I built a whole new comp. and I know it should work so... help me please? Thanks, Mike.
No, mis understanding me here. The file is corupt and I don't want to spend $50 to buy the whole game again. The only other thing I can think of to make you guy believe that I actualy own the game(btw, why would I only want one file if I stole the game?) would be from some kind of registration, so can someone tell me how I can prove that I own it because I don't want any problems and I just want to play The Sims2! So any directions on how I can verify that I own the game would be welcome as well.
The file may not necessarily be corrupt; it may just be your optical drive is unable to read and transfer it over.
I have had this game work on my computer before without problems and I had this same optical drive, I just reused it from my old computer. Anyway, I have 2 computers as I have one for gamming and one for everything else.(records, work, etc) Long story short, I instaled with no problems in the second computer and it works fine with very poor performance.(due to the computer)I would still like to have it work on my new computer but I can't figure out why the game says that the file is corrupt. On a side note, I'm po'ed at EA's Tech support because they told me the same thing that MegRen told me while I'm staring at my proof of purchase tab on the back of my manual.
I wouldn't worry too much about it...that file isn't necessary to play the game. it's only one of the two start-clips (which I think get's annoying after the 20th start, or so, anyways just delete it and you won't get the "corrupted file" message again. (BTW I cleaned out all my "Movies" folders, so all I have in there are the TV Commercials and the games without any side effects others than slightly faster loading time -le
I'm leaving for a trip today at 10:30, just checking my e-mail for the last time so i'll try to delete the file when I get home. Thanks though some how I never thought of that. Anyway, once I give it a shot I'll come back and tell you all the news.
ok, so... I'm confused. Question @ Leticron, "How did you deleate the files? I have tried everything that I can think of and I know that the anseres right in front of me but... I can't see it." Thanks.
I trust, you know how to delete files normally. So what went wrong?? Did you ALT-Tab out of Sims or didn't you have the appropriate rights? These files are not protected...if you can't delete them, they are in use so reboot and delete them before you start Sims -le
