    Problem with my screen!

Okay, this problem doesn't seem to be coming from The Sims 2, but it only seems to happen whenever I play The Sims 2.

Everything is fine up until I enter a household. All of a sudden, my monitor goes to sleep and I can't get it to come back on, no matter how much I move the mouse or even when I turn on the monitor and turn it back on. IT STILL STAYS ON SLEEP MODE! This has never happened up until I start playing a family. The only way I can get the screen to come back on is if I shut down the entire computer!

It's really frustrating because it prevents me from playing The Sims 2. Can somebody tell me what to do to fix this or can tell if this has ever happened to them before??

Right click your desktop, select the "Screen Saver" tab. In that tab, there should be "Power Options" at the bottom of that dialog. Click that "Power" button. It will give you a few options from a dropdown list, select "Presentation", as your computer monitor should stay on at all time (you can play around with the settings later after this issue is resolved). Click okay and run the game.

Let me know if this fixes it or still happens.

I tried that already and it's still going to sleep. But I realized something:

It only freezes and goes to sleep when I'm in Buy Mode. I'll try to grab something and move it, and all of a sudden it freezes and the monitor goes straight to sleep mode, but I can still hear everything that's going on!

I even scanned my computer for viruses and cleaned all that up and tried it again... IT STILL WENT TO SLEEP MODE!! I'M SO FRUSTRATED!!!!

Do you think it may be The Sims 2 game itself??? :(

Hmmm, not sure if this will solve it either. Have you updated your graphics drivers to the latest revision?
