    Problem with Bon Voyage

I apologize if this has been mentioned before but I did a search and couldn't find it. I got Bon Voyage for Christmas. Ever since I installed it, every time I try to leave a public lot the game freezes. It happens whether it is in the regular neighborhood or on vacation. When I click on my Sims car to leave it freezes and when on vacation it freezes as soon as I click the public phone to leave the lot. The live mode button goes black. The only option that works is quit. Once I restart the game, my Sims are delivered home or to their hotel in a taxi but everything is like they never left. Their needs revert to the same level they were before they left and any items picked up and put in their inventory are no longer there. Obviously, I'm not making any progress. My Sims have been on Day 1 of their vacation for several days now and my Sims blind dates never happened...lol. I never had this problem before installing Bon Voyage. I did install the patch. Has anyone else had this problem? I don't have a clue how to fix it and am considering uninstalling Bon Voyage.

    QUESTION
Why does my game freeze or crash when I'm traveling to a vacation lot?

    Answer

There is currently an issue with The Sims 2 Bon Voyage freezing or crashing because of an issue in the software related to the fact that when your Sims visit a vacation lot, there is a unique NPC (non-player character) Tour Guide that is created each visit. The Sims team is aware of this issue and is currently working on an update to resolve this.

The patch said it fixed the problem though... http://thesims2.ea.com/update/getpatch.php?appVersion=1.10

I wonder if a fresh reinstallation is needed...

I will uninstall the expansion and reinstall it to see what happens. I downloaded the patch again and it says everything is already updated on my game. I disabled all my custom content and that didn't help either.

Thank you Judhudson. I reinstalled everything and now it's working. I will be starting from scratch but at least I can play the game now.
