Sims 2 Pets Installation Problem I have vista for my computer and installing Sims 2 was fine. I recently bought Sims 2 Pets and I installed it, all fine, until the update stage where I have to put disc 4 in. I put the disc in and up comes this,' TS2UPDO.exe has stopped working' and BOOM! Installation terminated So I download a Sims 2 Update Patch from the EA website and when I try and run it with disc 4 it says,' thesims2_update.exe has stopped working' hmmm. Just also, to point out, I can't actually open sims 2 from the desktop icon, I have to let the disc load and then run it and then allow the computer to access it. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON!! I really wanna play on petssss.
If you have followed advice and made a back up of your saved game files before you tried installing Pets then you should do this: Completely uninstall the game and delete all Sims 2 files which are left after uninstalling (except for your back up files which will be in a different place than MY Documents\EA Games\ ) Also, make sure that no Sims 2 folders remain in C:\Program Files\EA Games\) Now reinstall The Sims 2. and then Patch it before trying install Pets. Vista doesn't like the Expansion Patch's updater. It crashed for me too. I had to do exactly the same thing. It made me really annoyed to have install TS2 twice in the same afternoon. :(
i am having the same problem as killerjane. I tried everything. what else can i do so i can play prts.
if there is proplom in installation i wont until it all fixed becuse i have weak enternet (all my country have )
Internet has nothing to do with being able to install a game or any expansions. Registering and activating a game online is a different story though. The general reasons for something happening during the installation process and preventing it installing usually boil down to either bad or dirty disks or a cd or dvd rom device having too slow a read time and not being able to read the data on the disk fast enough. Loose connections might attribute to this also or faulty software. Are you having an actual problem installing Pets or are you just worried it won't install?
