Major problem in my sims 2 game. Please help!!

I don't understand why but in my Sims 2 game everything goes crazy. The items/objects are all normal and as they should be, they don't have a color spread out or a malfunction in the graphics. My Sims characters do though. Whenever I play it they lose color and the color stretches out, their limbs and clothes stretch out, the colors blot the screen so I can't even see. The hair sometimes disappears when this happens, along with the clothes. The color shoots out from them and no matter what angle I try to play it at, it's all messed up. The graphics on only the Sims, nothing else, is all messed up. I have windows vista, does that have anything to do with it? I don't understand. Please help!

This seems like a graphics card issue. Do you know what graphics/video card you have? If you do, check their official site and download the latest drivers for the card. If you don't...

Go to the start menu, select the search option and type in dxdiag. It should search for that file (dxdiag.exe) click it and then in the second tab (display) it will list your card and card manufacture. Post the specs here.

I agree in totality it sounds like in both cases a graphic card issue. The Sims2 is actually an indepth game that pulls alot on the computer system. The more EPs and BPs you add, the more pull that has to be generated. I personally have all the EPs and BPs put out and I run a computer system with a Nivida Geforce Graphic Card of 6100 and it runs very well. I used to have a laptop, but I found that you really cannot run the game good on it unless you have a real good system. Desk top is more recommended, at least from my end.
