Troubleshooting EADM errors-EA Support no help

    EADM errors-EA Support no help

    ok, so I had DH build me a super computer and hook it up the the giant HDTV in my living room. I installed all of my discs and them put the download manager on the computer to install Holiday, Glamour Life, and Seasons.

    I did the DL on Holiday and when I clicked on the install button it did nothing. Hrm, I rebooted and tried again. No dice. So, I decide to try Glamour Life thinking my computer was just being snippy. I dl'ed it, and when it started to "decrypt" the files I got some crazy C++ Visual Basic buffer over run error. :mad: I updated my Direct X, uninstalled EADM (including the reg edit) and tried all over again. SAME ISSUE.

    I contacted support, they told me to follow THEIR removal instructions. I did that, and still same problem. I notify them again and they suggest I create a new windows profile and try. SAME ISSUE :rolleyes:

    Just for grins, I got out the laptop that had EADM on it (but was in a closet lol) and was able to use Holiday, GL, and Seasons playing from the EADM. I uninstalled Glamour Life and tried to re-download it. I got the same freaking buffer overrun error ACK!

    Two computers, two different brands, both running XP SP2, different processors, etc. But I got the same issue. So, I contact EA and tell them I want discs! I paid for these games and I can't install them on my computer and they can't help, so I want the discs mailed to me and I will nevah evah use EADM again.

    Anyone else had this issue? DH is a computer man so it's not like we haven't tried our own tricks to get it working but no dice. I would love to post the diagnostic report but it's long and I have to C&P since it's a txt file on my EA support thread (deleted orig file from computer and uninstalled EADM for good). Oh, and the log file from the EADM says it "can't locate necessary files."

    FOR Extended Download WONT WORK THE GAME WILL NOT START IN ORDER TO LAUNCH GAME. PLEASE LOGIN TO THE EA DOWNLOAD MANAGER TP VERIFY YOUR OWNERSHIP, THEN TRY AGAIN I HAVE WINDOWS VISTA AND HAVE E-MAILED EA GAMES WITH NO HELP STILL TRYING 7 DAYS AFTER PAYING FOR THE GAME CAN ANY ONE HELP PLEASE YOURS HOPEING MICK WOOD.

    I finally went to planetfeedback.com and complained. EA called me the next day and sent me hard copies of all games :)
