Troubleshooting it wont load all the way...

it wont load all the way...

i'v downloaded the sims 2 and i will about to the loading line a the bottom of the page and on the second data line it shuts its self down and i just cant get past that

off the cd i got quite a while ago

 

Do you mean you're tried installing off the disk and it won't complete the installation?
Does it give you any kind of error message?
Have you tried cleaning the disk or the laser inside the cd-rom?

 

i got the installation fine but when loading the game to play it shuts down.
no there is no message.
i have cleaned the cd but not the laser.
