Invisible wall glitch (resetSim glitch) I am new to these forums, as such allow me to introduce myself: I am exp20thcen, my game name is Syrian, I favor RPGs (final fantasy), RTSs (company of heroes), and occasionally an FPS (TF2, FEAR combat, half-life 2). My latest obsession would be Sims 3 latest expansion pack, "Ambitions". I am an advanced computer user and am knowledgeable in fixing them, and building them. I am not a avid forum user, but after browsing a few different ones, this one looked nice and I am in desperate need of help with a glitch that doesn't seem to have an answer. I would be greatful for any assistance anyone could provide. I had a rather common problem occur, one of my sims got stuck, the mother of my family was "reading to my toddler" and when she was done the toddler crawled away, and she got stuck. I used the cheat "resetSim" to un-glitch her and it worked like a charm, however it moved her to the center of the room, and now the previous spot where she was standing is glitched. It is acting as if she is still there, as such no one can access that area and I can't build, or delete anything in a 2x3 square. It also just so happens to be right in the middle of my newly remodeled kitchen. I have tired every cheat I can find to edit terrain or moveobjects, ect...None seem to work. I plan to just expand the house forward and quarantine the area with walls, but if it can be fixed, I'd like to before it has a chance to cause more problems. I thank-you in advance for any assistance.
In addition it seems that my Mother Sim is glitched all together, she behaves oddly, sometimes falls right threw from the 2nd floor to the first floor while going up the stairs, and when she sleeps (in her bed on the 2nd floor), I can see her "floating" while my camera is viewing the 1st floor.
Thanks Nyx Thank-you very much Nyx, I was a little nervous to do this, but it worked. I moved the entire family out with their house, and placed them in a new lot...kinda gonna miss the old location, but it looks like all the glitches have reset and the mother as well as the previous floor area is working well. On top of that, I think I'll keep the extension to the kitchen, it turned out nice. thanks again nyx and Urban forums
Yay! Glad I could help. and I'm pretty sure you still can move them back to the same lot. I did and the glitches didn't come back.
