Salut! Haha! I think I'm a bit young and inexperienced for that, I'm only 16 But you could always start by going to http://french.about.com --> It's a great resource for all French learners But if you ever want to ask me questions .... I'll try and answer 'em
A lady I occasionally have on my bus was born in France. I don't know how long she has lived in the US, but her accent is charming. And she is always gracious when I attempt to say anything in french to her. P.S. When I suggested the french lessons, I didn't realize that you lived down under.
Haha, yep, I was born and bred in the land of Oz. I started French four years ago in Year 7, and I've been facinated by the language and its people since. My goal is to one day live in biligual Canada I think it's great that you'd try and practise your French with her I think any non-native speaker needs all the chances to speak with native speaks when they can
you're probably right. That's why it's been so hard to learn any other language, because there wasn't the need. But did you know there are parts of the us now, where english is the 2nd language and you're lucky if you can find someone who speaks it?
Wow! I find that very interesting indeed! But given that The US is so vast in size, the existance of these communities isn't too suprising I absolutely love learning about languages, and learning them is difficult but rewarding. I believe they open up so many boundaries, and I envy the people who can naturally pick up languages (I'm talking about the people who know like 4/5 languages fluently) Natalie Portman, for instance, knows English, Hebrew Japanese and French! Whew!
That is a lot. Yes, I envy the people that have an ear for other tongues. I'm deaf in one ear myself and often have a hard time following heavily accented english.
