FaeLuna Update. Let's see... last time I was visiting the forums I got to the thread about the flooding in Las Vegas and I was posting about that and RIGHT after I posted the rain I was having got worse and the electricity went out! My exciting news in my life is I cut 8 inches off my hair so it's now to just above the middle of my back! AND we got more RAM for our computer but we're having trouble installing it.. finally our computer started TALKING to us saying "you may have a memory problem" so we took out the new RAM and will have to take it back to the computer store and ask what to do now! Also I FINALLY got Sims Online and hope to install it today after posting here! Tomorrow I go in for my 6 month check up after having the tumor removed so I hope all goes well there. Keep me in your thoughts.
Yay! Everything turned out ok! The new lump they think may be just a gland or something that should have the swelling go down, so I hope they're right! My incision is all healing up right so that's great! I might be able to get out and play at playing tennis and basketball again now. :bunny: My hubby took the computer in to the computer store this morning and they saw what it did with the screen all messed up and everything freezing and they said "cool" because they had never seen a computer do that before.... uh oh... O-o They got it to stop doing THAT by trying a different stick of RAM but NOW it's doing a NEW trick where it behaves till you open an application and then the screen goes BLANK. Now they think it might be the motherboard. I'm SO glad we got the warantee on parts when we bought all this in January. Maybe by next week sometime my computer will be all better... in the meantime we've taken out the new RAM again and it's all hunky dory with that... sigh. So it's working in the meantime till we figure how to make it work WITH added RAM! I got the Sims Online installed after finally defragging yesterday! whoo-hoo! I'm a little lost in the game so far though.
Do you have motherboards and RAM? actually... that might NOT be a bad idea! We do eventually want to get a third computer... as we're figuring out the old one won't let my hubby do what he wants learning movie editing stuff... and if he takes over MY computer with movie editing how am I going to play the sims!
I'll collaborate with my hubby to start saving up for a third computer then... I'll tell him I've got "connections" Unfortunately the saving up could take next to FOREVER at the rate we're going... it's going to be on a long long list... under a dining table and memory for the digital camera and a new toilet seat and pillow shams and curtain hold-backs... sigh... So you got bored with TSO lew? What all did you do before you were bored with it? I'm still lost and wandering around! Except today MY computer is in the shop still trying to get the RAM installed so I can't play today....
More update, I was going to add it to the last post so I wasn't double posting... but then I realized it won't show up in the new posts so no one will notice it. After 2 days without MY computer (and going through Sims Online withdrawal after only 2 days of playing....) just now tonight my hubby came home with my computer fixed and working!! yay! It turned out the motherboard was set up so we had to put the new RAM not in the SECOND empty slot, but in the THIRD slot... and they still don't know WHY it works like that... but now they know how to fix the problem. Uh oh... my hubby just plugged everything in and NOW a mechanical voice is saying "Your keyboard and mouse may have a problem." At least it isn't announcing a memory problem so that should be something we can fix... I hope... wish us luck....
Yeah... computers... sigh. I ended up with the computer giving us the blank screen after we opened a couple of applications... which is what the computer shop said they FIXED so it wouldn't happen anymore. Now we've taken out the old RAM and are running on just the NEW RAM to see if it works and it does. It seems my computer doesn't want a gig of RAM! Waaaah! :( I'm hoping our computer tech friends might be able to figure something out this weekend. I had wild computer related dreams last night, I dreamed I was trying to chat on an old computer that had you typing by hitting the number pad keys till it was the right letter, kind of like the telephone is set up where each number has about 3 letters! There was no keyboard!
What an image. I really got a chuckle out of that. It works fine til you forget what word you were trying to spell.
I am SO glad that I have a real keyboard to type with! Let's see... my new update is we figured out what was wrong with the RAM... the people at the computer store gave us a chip that ran at a faster mhz speed than the original chip, though they were both 512 2700 RAM chips... so they could work one at a time, but not together. The computer store never figured it out, our tech friend who came down for the weekend figured it out finally! So we'll have to take the RAM back and see if they can sell us the RIGHT speed... or get our money back. sigh. We installed our new TV Out video card so we can use our tv as a monitor now and we watched our friend play computer games on our tv screen! Whooo-hooo! My next big project will be getting stuff I recorded off tv on vhs tapes turned into CDs so it doesn't deteriorate to the point I can't watch it, and find my mom's videos made from our old 8mm film home movies, and get THAT preserved too.
Whaaaa!!!! I can't get TSO.......my mom says 'Jenessa you shouldn't get it since there's most likely going to be sicko's on there, asking kids for information!' Gosh sometimes I just can't stand her.......
awww sorry about that! It seems like they are working very hard to keep people behaving in the game, but anywhere you go you could find bad people. :(
Like on here -looks around at everyone- but my mom lets me come on here, she said you guys seem nice.
I'm glad she lets you come here! I think we all work hard here to keep it nice, especially Josh! He'll send the bad guys running!
I'm glad she lets me come on here too! She'll let me come on by myself now....she used to sit by me when I came on here, but now she realizes that not all forums are bad, she'll even let me get on some chatrooms!!!
Cool! hehe I had a thought, see if SHE wants to come here and post too. I guess she might not be so interested in sims though....
