    800x600?

my 21" monitor is broken.. so now i use a 16" monitor that's really old...
i can only use 800x600 and sims2 is 1024x something... when i open SIMS2 it goes really weird and i can't see anything! Can you please tell me where tne CONFIG or something is where i can change my resolution for the game?

    THANK YOU :D

right-click on your desktop, then, click properties, click the settings tab, and you should see the drop-down box for the resolutions (sp?).

Dont think he can, it would seem his monitor wont support a resolution any higher.

if you have windows xp (and I believe you can also do this with windows me) right click your shortcut to the sims2, click properties from the menu, click the compatibility tab, then check off the option to run in 640x480 resolution. yeah I know it's only 640x480 but you can at least get into the game to change the resulting resolution. hopefully it'll let you do it even though you're forcing 640x480. after you get it to change the option to 800x600 in-game, exit the game and go back into compatibility tab and UNCHECK the 640x480 resolution. then try running the game again.

if that doesn't work, there used to be a switch you can use that will force the game to run to a lower resolution (in sims1 you could force it to run in 1024x768 by adding this switch). I'm gonna go look around the net trying to find out how to do this with sims2. once I find a way I'll post back here

haven't been able to find anything, but whenever you right-click on the shortcut and click properties, after the path to the executable you can add some text that will force the resolution to a lower setting. try looking through the game manual (I know it was in the sims1 manual) or ask someone at the official sims2 site.
