I get a CD/DVD Emulation Software Detected error. For Windows 98, ME- Download the latest version of DCOM at: http://www.microsoft.com/com/dcom/dcom98/download.asp For Windows XP - Download the safedisk patch at: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?releaseid=35831 For Windwos 2000 - Download the safedisk patch at: http://www.macrovision.com/products/safedisc/downloads.shtml If this still doesn't resolve the issue, please contact your PC manufacturer to resolve the issue.
also, make sure to uninstall cd emulation programs such as clonecd and alcohol. thats the whole idea of the message.
Yes, I had to uninstall the clone cd program we'd used to copy my picture cds. I was wondering if that means I wont be able to install it again later? If so... I'm wondering what to use to make the picture album cds this Christmas! I don't want to reinstall it to make the cds only to find it's messed up my game! That would NOT make it a happy Christmas!!
well, if all you do is copy the original cd's, there are many other programs out there that can copy cd's as well. the most popular are nero, roxio and alcohol. although they are payware, they do have fully functional trial versions for download. www.nero.com www.roxio.com www.alcohol-soft.com
Only for who have the original version... I'm italian and I don't known well english but I try to do my best, so excume for my bad grammar or verbs. For ALL as me that have bought the original game "The Sims 2" but receive the error CD/DVD protection, I can tell that now is possible to download the crack from www.gamecopyworld.com
unless they fixed it since the last time i checked, that crack messes up the build mode to the point that the build mode doesnt work. period.
CD/DVD emulation software has been detected. Please disable all CD/DVD emulation soft Im sure you have heard about this and basically whenever I try and load up the game this message comes up. Now, I have uninstalled all software I had (CloneCD, Nero) because I never use it in the hope of it resolving the problem, but to no avail the message still comes up. Im really getting annoyed now because I have tried everything, I have downloaded a service pack from microsoft received from various Sims websites and this didn't help neither. If there was anyway to check what type of emulation software I have on the computer because there just isn't any on the computer, i've checked everywhere! I also downloaded the crack, but im not too sure how to use it or what it actually does. Any help would be greatly appriciated!!!
A friend of mine had the same problem and found out it was because the uninstall of CloneCD had left behind a couple of registry entries. If you know how to edit the registry you can search for anything referencing CloneCD and delete the offending entries. If not, try searching Google for a registry cleaner you can download (I'm pretty sure there are some free ones out there) and see if that takes care of the problem.
