    It's kinda buggy.
They are in the "entertain" menu of the dialouge options, but they only show up sometimes.
According to my experience, you should have dinner ready right after he shows up, and then check your dialouge options every few seconds, with all your charaters. As soon as you get the "call to dinner" option, abort enrything else and use it.

THis confused me a lot for a start as well..

    HOW TO:

Click on the headmaster and you can "Give Tour", "Call to Dinner" or "...Schmooze or something"

    TOUR

Select the "Give Tour" option and start your tour. You do this by moving into each room you wish to show the Headmaster and when he has followed you in you click him and select "Show Room". He obviously likes big rooms with expensive furniture and no mess... Once you're done go to "End Tour" and he will say what he thinks

    DINNER

Don't be too hasty, after the tour and a bit of Schmoozing it will say "the Headmaster is getting hungry" and you should then "Serve Dinner" for him... You can do this early, but it's best to tour the house before it gets too messy or your sims get sad! :p

    SCHMOOZING / Whateva

I forget the word for it, but you can suck up to the Headmaster. WARNING: Do not do this with a sad sim, they depress him and get "XX--" above his head. Schmoozing is easy with a happy / platinum Sim, so your child is a good representative on this part. You can initially Schmooze about School, but soon about money ( and maybe more... )

THe first time I tried I got 95/90, and the breakdown was pretty much:

    Schmoozing 60
    Food 20
    Tour 15

    ---------------- edit ---------------

BTW: i'm not sure, but I think that having A+ grades and Platinum mood on your child helps a lot as well... I wonder if a student with low grades can get through

It's also easier to schmooze the headmaster if you read magazines on the designated schmoozer to increase his level of interest in the topics the headmaster likes to talk about: Work, money, politics, school. This will reduce the number of X-- instances.

Also note that the headmaster is occasionally glitchy and will sometimes, for no particularly explicable reason, simply show up, then immediately decide to leave with a "unsatisfactory" message. Some claim that this is caused by an ugly yard. This is untrue. If you watch the headmaster leave, he doesn't actually even leave, in the sense that he gets back into his car and drives off: Sometimes the car drives off without him, and in all cases, he doesn't actually get in the car, he just poofs! People have claimed that this is caused by an ugly yard, but, again, this is untrue! If he does this, you can immediately run to the phone and invite him again, as long as you do so within the hour. When I did this, the headmaster immediately came back again, and this time, didn't vanish with an "unsatisfactory" result...even though I had changed nothing in the yard! At first, I had read about this on the official forums, and people claiming it was caused by their ugly yard, or paid bills in the mailbox, but in this case, when it happened, the yard was in excellent condition and not at all ugly. This isn't caused by any of those symptoms: It's a completely random bug, and if you call the headmaster again immediately, he'll come back, and probably not immediately run off unless you actually do have a scuzzy yard.

Be also warned: Make sure that access to any "fun" items are blocked off. The headmaster will occasionally be distracted by video games, swings, the pinball machine(especially the pinball machine!), and become very difficult to dislodge from it. I forget whether you can or cannot use "Shoo" on the headmaster. It helps if you try to end the tour of the house with the kitchen as the last room to be shown, but the headmaster sometimes spontaneously ends the tour if he decides he's seen enough.

It is also not true that the headmaster likes big rooms with expensive furniture and no mess. The headmaster likes high environment scores. Expensive furniture often has an environment bonus, and messes penalize the environment, but these are symptomatic, not causal. In fact, big rooms seem to carry an environmental penalty, so showing him big rooms is not necessarily a good thing! What I have found the headmaster likes most is clean, well-lit bathrooms. I regularly get 40-50 point tours showing him the bathrooms. As a side benefit, bathrooms, in my homes, are often located near kitchens, being that in my sim routines, using the bathroom is often caused by, or immediately preceeded by, eating, as eating lowers the bladder meter, which is a great time to then go to the bathroom, which then lowers the hygiene meter, and isn't it great the shower is there too? Also, the bathroom is often well-lit, as it is small, and can be illuminated by a single cheap light-fixture, and I often light the bathroom first to raise the environment score there, since otherwise, sims are prone to whining about the sometimes scuzzy bathroom, particularly if the house is inhabited by a slobby sim. The headmaster loves the bathrooms! The lack of "fun" items in the bathroom will also keep him from being distracted, and proximity to the kitchen will reduce the odds of getting sidetracked after a dinner call.

If I can get the Brokes into Private School on a comfortable score margin, anyone can make it.
