    Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas by Rockstar Games

Being the new moderator of these forums, I would like my first post as moderator to be about potentially the best selling game ever.

Not having played this game YET being in the UK and it not being out until Friday, all I can do is speculate how great this game is going to be. Listening to all the rants and raves on GTA fansites I can't help but be hyped about this game. From what I've heard there's even a few Sims features in there, such as eating and getting fat if you don't do anything about it, and working out to turn it into muscle.

If any of you have got it, share some information about it. Enlighten us all.

Too be honest I haven't played it yet. All of the rental stores around here haven't received their game shipments which can make it a little annoying since I want to rent it, and SA looks a ton better than VC.

I'm going to be so dissapointed if SA is actually a PS2 only game. Surely the world would be a happier place if they introduced it to PC. Rockstar Games would make a killing from it too.

edit: Never mind. I just found out that it is comming to PC. Can't wait now :D

Don't worry mate, it is coming out on Xbox and PC, but not until next year. So not to worry.

I bought it the day it came out. I wasn't too crazy about it at first, but it's grown on me. I love the level of customization available for your character (being the Sims junkie that I am). It's not just clothes. You can regulate the muscle and body fat on Carl.

My roommate and I are each playing separate games and our Carl's look completely different. Mine is skinny with no body fat and about half of his muscle bar full. She has her Carl with a little more muscle and a lot more fat. It really changes the gameplay dynamics.

There is also a lot more variety in the missions. Some are pretty difficult and some are pretty simple and funny. I find it generally more entertaining than Vice City.

personally, i havent played it yet. im a little anxious to try it out. but the only thing that has really gotten me interested in VC and SA is the fact that you have tons of free roam capabilities which few games these days seem to provide.

That's exactly what I like about VC and SA, too. Before VC, the only game I played (since the demise of SNES) was The Sims. Yet I got hooked on a shooter and SA really expands the appeal (for me).

Unfortunately, some parts of San Andreas are inaccessible when you first start. You begin in Los Santos and then get to another area after a few missions and then to another (after even more missions). There's still a lot to do and see in a single area, though. There are more "Find X number of these" type pursuits. Most striking about the SA terrain is that there are hills. Everything is not on the relatively same level anymore.

It's pretty impressive (and, after VC, it had to be).
