Problem I can't seem to copy all of the directX files of the CD! (and i did read ManagerJosh's thread about DirectX problems) But everytime i try to copy it or watever it always stops halfway through and says something like "DirectX didn't copy a required file" then it would just shut off the program! Wat is happening? (i did see the other thread about this but...well...lets just say that i don't know really anything about computers and got confused while reading it...so if u could like make it so stupid people can read that would be great)
Sorry to know that you are having so much trouble but you do need to help us to help you. We can't tell you very much without knowing what your computer is like. Read this first It is likely that you won'tknow all the answers. DON'T PANIC! Click Start then Run. In the space type dxdiag. Depending on your computer a minute or ten will go by and then a panell will appear with a complete analysis of your computer. Make a note of all the information asked for in the link above and then repost your problem along with the info. If your problem can be fixed someone will be able to tell you how to do it. OK?
This should be everything except for the memory and i hope thats all right cuz like i said earlier i am not very knowledgeable about computers! 1. PCU 180GHz,~1.8GHz 2. 254MB RAM 5.Intel Extreme Graphic Controller 6. 6.13.0001.3162 7.DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) 8. Windows XP 9.Sims 2 CD
Your integrated graphics handler is listed (by Intel) as being compatible with the game but you may need to upgrade the device drivers ... Go to http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/intel845g/ to find out more (including a 'how to' and to get the latest drivers).
"Hardware accelerated Direct3D 9+ is not available because the display driver does not support it. You may be able to get a newer driver from the hardware manufacturer." lol i just found this so...I'm guessing ur right.
but now i have another problem...when i downloaded the new drive it came in a program (win2k_xp149) to extract it...but i can't find where its putting them or if its even really extracting them. When i do run the program it says that it was a success and that i must restart my computer but nothing changes.
If you ran the program, it self installs. There's no manual labor figuring out where to install files.
