How Do I resurect a Sim?

Remember baby Bella, who lost her mother over the weekend? Well, she died today, just like her mother! As I loaded the house, she grabbed her throat and keeled over!! Both her sister and her stepmother tried to plead for loved one but it didn't work. Help!! How can I save her little life?? Can I use the debugging cheat? Or SimPE? That little girl has been though so much, I can't stand to see her die!!

I've not actually used it to resurrect (rather the opposite ;) ) but SimPE should bring her back to life ... the relative will still remember the death though ... unless you also hack the memories. I think that side things is still rather experimental ... in any event memory hacking is complicated ... you need to be sure that all affected sims retain the same memories.

I'm confused. I don't know how to hack into the memories. I went into Sims PE and unchecked the "Is a Ghost" value. Now, I need to take out the "I am dead" memory from Bella, and then the "Bella died" memory from her family. Right? How do I do that?

    Okay, think I got it. . .

I went into SimsPE and found the "Experiemental Memory Manager". Went through and took out all the memories of Bella dying from herself and every member of her family. Even the babies who don't live with her. Even the maid that was not related, but there when it happened. There were two memories, on visible, one not. I deleted them. Now, let's see what happens. Getting ready to start the game back up. Keep your fingers crossed! :)

where can I find The Sims PE?

Faktririjekt: There's a SimsPE website, but I don't remember the exact address. Do a search on google. :)

Mirelly: SUCSESS!!! Bella is alive. I had to go through and erase all the "dead" memories, and then I had to use the tombstone of Life and Death to move her back into the house. So, it took both. I saved after I knew she was alive and well. Then, I deleted her tombstone, and she disapeared, as well as her icon. I exited the house without saving, and when I opened it up again, there she was, in that "Ta Da!" pose on the family load screen. I have played her happilly all evening long. I almost got her into private school with her sisters, but her Dad picked the moment he was giving the Headmaster the tour to DIE!!!! The Headmaster was finished, as you could imagine. Spent the rest of the evening crying with the family, then said that Bella hadn't made it into Private School!!! GRRRRR! I have screenshots I'll post tomorrow. It's almost 1 AM here, I'm going to bed! ;)

The game save files are all in My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2.
If you do not have a shortage of disc space the simplest way to be sure is to make a copy of that whole directory (nearly 4 gigabytes on my pc).

SimPE does tell you the file name and location of the file it is working on ... so if you want to be economical you can simply make a back up of that file before exiting and saving ... though SimPE does this anyway ...

By the way ... are you really a reject from a factory? :p

And I think my whole game is jinxed. . .

I was playing another favorite family, and the Daddy died!!!! Maybe they all have some sort of killer flu?? Maybe some bad strain of SARS got caught in my game??? :( I left him alone. The game's just got it into it's programing to kill off the Sims I play all the time and tourture me this weekend!!!

AFAIK, the Sims can get sick from the Flu. Happened to one of my Sims who works as a cop; he got home and, in the space of three or four minutes, infected both his wife and their daughter. I stuck all three of them in bed and luckily, no one else caught it.

Didn't someone once say that townies can spread the flue, too? Kristallrose, you might want to check if your families aren't really "sick" - in the truest sense of the word. That's just a little TOO much death to happen all at once.

Hmm ... I think that Ningengirai is on to something, Kristal. Have any of your sims got the Simsanto Bio Station work reward thing? One its nasty surprises is that it makes a killer virus. JMP got really worked up about this because it can be spread through the townies because they can't be made to rest so they get over it.

AFAIK, the in game colds and flu are not killer diseases. But the so-called mystery disease is :(

They did have colds/flu in the families. But I've had four fatalities this past week!!! Five if you count Napoleon, who died of old age. What's the "mystery illness"? Is it some sort of mutated flu bug?? The medical Bio Station is at my Legacy House. These sims may have visited, or the townies may have. Maybe one is a carrier? Is that possible??

i dont know, but i would like to turn the Death of sims off, atleast some of them. so its only the ones i want to die who die.. can i do that somhow?

it is just that after seing this i am starting to regreath that i broght the game,
i cant find enything about it in game. and i think the lives of my sims is to short even if they die of old age. somtimes i play for hours and then somone dies that isent suposed to die. this is braking the fun of playing with the sims2.

But this used to happen in the original sims, as well. Surely it cannot be breaking the fun for random bad things to happen. I find it gets boring very quickly if nothing unexpected happens. If I am bored I am definitely not having fun

All the same ... glad to have you and your opinions on the board, Harno! Welcome to our little bag of simmish goodness! :D

Here I agree with Mirelly, When I first bought the game I got my teen sim to look at the clouds 2 seconeds later she got hit by a satillite. I was so surprised I nearly fell out of my chair (I didn't have sims 1 ) It deffintly got me to continue playing. LOL. I wanted to see what other wicked ways they could die of.;)
