Is there a cheat for automatic friends? I know in The Sims 1 there was the Magic Mirror that you could use to automatically befriend people (saves a lot of time if you're just trying to gain career points) and instantly refresh your needs. So my question is . . . is there a thing for The Sims 2 like that yet?

InSIMinator, for U or not for U? Plus, keep in mind, no one really knows how any hack is going to work with Sims 2 U. Use at an even greater risk.
LOL. All non Maxis items should be handled with caution. Look at the problems folks have with official items! Imagine how much more fun you can have with unofficial stuff. In the world of computers nothing is perfectly fool proof, so if you screw up don't blame anyone but yourself is what "own risk" means.
As far as the InSIMinator is concerned, earlier versions won't work with TS2U. However, at MTS2 they've found that there are some versions which do work. (If you find the MTS2 thread about it in the modding tools part of the forum, they explain it pretty well.) Fortunately, with nearly a week's experience, it's gotten a lot of "testing" done already. However, I'd rather use something which doesn't require a tool. While Merola64's Multipainting does a lot more in some ways than the old Magic Mirror did, I do miss the MM's ability to help with making friends!
Phone Hack 6.2 is tentatively University compatible and is quite helpful for making friends, since it removes the need to repeatedly queue the command because your sim keeps hanging up. Best of all, it's not even a cheat. Push the button and it goes! More push-the-button-and-it-goes-ware will be coming soon.
My Sims don't hang up until I tell them to, even without a hack specifically for that. I've found that if I either drop or drain their social (with the multipainting) while they are on the phone, they'll happily go from a score of 0 to 100 before they'll hang up. Sims hang up when their social is filled.
I've figured out a way. Use the boolprop cheat, then drag the bars for your Sim (and the other if you made him/her, married him/her, etc.) It's a one-sided thing, what you do to one bar you have to do to the other, therefore, this will not work for non-controllable NPCs and townies. Of course, you could also do this without necessarily having met said Sim, by using boolprop, then shift-clicking on the mailbox and choosing 'Make Me Know Everyone', then choose that Sim's bar. If you use 'Make Friends for Me', it's a completely random chance who the computer will choose, but I believe that using it makes the friendship mutual, though I am not entirely sure...:glasses:
No kidding. From what he's hinted, he may have *finally* gotten Ts2U! (We can only hope. However, we are *not* going to whine about it. He goes slower if we whine.)

Since they list the twins cheat (which Maxis has said was only a joke), their list may not be too accurate. (Maxis officially has stated that there are no twins cheats that will work. It was only a joke. The only way to increase twins is by using a twins hack/mod, which do work.) Also, remember that using the boolprop cheat is done at your own risk. It was meant as a programmer's tool, not for the general public. If you don't know how to fix things if they go wrong (without asking for help), you probably shouldn't use the cheat.
There is an easy fool-proof way to avoid any consequences from using this cheat. It's called a full backup I did play with it a little bit with a throw-away version of saved game. I did find that even if you don't save your game, it can seriously mess up your game. I'd also advise caution and a full backup before playing with this.
Can it just cause a problem with those particular familys or a problem to the whole game meaning re-installing? What files should I copy to back up my game??
