There are several tutorials which can help: http://thesims2.ea.com/help/ (has a list with several of the tutorials) http://members.fortunecity.com/lpx/tutorials/hair.html http://www.geocities.com/thisday2005/tutorial.html http://home.planet.nl/~Dobbe065/Tutorials/Denim1.html http://members.fortunecity.com/lpx/tutorials/bumpmap.html http://www.jedifiction.com/simsstuff/tutorials2.html Some of them actually can be used if you've never used a raster (2D, as opposed to vector, which are 3D) graphics program. Here are some links to getting graphics programs that are often used in making things with Body Shop: The official websites all have downloadable, free trial period versions: http://www.adobe.com/homepage.html http://www.jasc.com/products/paintshoppro/ http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=Corel2/Products/Home&pid=1047022702185 This one is shareware: http://www.gimp.org/ with some further instructions/help: http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/stable.html, http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/faq.html This one has links to several free products: http://www.a1b2c3.com/free/av09.htm It can be a lot of fun to make things rather than using other people's downloads. But it does take some practice. Recoloring a whole garment or eye color or makeup seems to be the easiest thing to do, then you can move on to using the lasso tool to recolor just parts of a garment. The most difficult, of course, is starting from scratch with just the outline and drawing in all the details such as shadows, textures and the like. I'm still at the point where although I enjoy making things for myself, I don't feel that they are more than the recolor with lasso stage. I've done some things "from scratch" but they certainly aren't a quality thing when I'm done. (I just haven't done it enough. It's been years since I even did art type stuff on paper or canvas, let alone having to learn to use a whole new medium like the computer. But that hasn't stopped me from enjoying my own creations.)
