Gotta back m up Hello. Soon I'll be doing a fresh format on my machine and I need to backup my wife's sims. She plays the University expansion and I know that changed how her sims are saved, but I just can't seem to find it. Can someone point me to the folder I gotta save? TIA!!! ^JR^
Save the "EA Games" or "Sims 2" folder of Dokuments. It is mainly the contents of the folders holding the neighbourhoods that are changed by being expanded with one or more university neighbourhood(s).
The easiest thing to do would be to copy her entire EA Games folder. If you are using windows XP it would be Wife's Name/My Documents/EA Games. For example, mine is: Kristal/My Documents/EA Games. Just burn a copy of that whole folder to a CD and she should be able to reload her game from there. That way she doesn't loose any of her downloads a long with her sims. That way, you keep wife happy. And I think it was very sweet of you to come here and try to find out how to back up the game for your wife. My hubby would say, "Die Sims Die!!" and nuke them all while cackling madly and rubbing his hands in diobolical glee.
Yep just the folder: My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Note that this means the folder inside your My Documents folder. NOT those in the Program Files folder
