My Sim Self Died of the Choking Death!!! She was pregnant again but not showing. This was baby #5. (she was a family sim). I had her out in the back yard doing her prenatal yoga, and then told her just-home-from college daughter Mercedes to tend to the little babies, when Mercedes stopped and mini-me's icon came up in action quey for her to "cry softly." By the time Mercedes and her father Jimmy got out there to Grimmy, it was too late to plead for her life. I went ahead and saved it, because, well, sometimes life is random and sudden like that. But it was still really sad. She had the grown daughter and three tiny little boys, and one baby on the way. Jimmy promptly sat down and had a nervous breakdown on the spot. The kids just keep crying except for baby Cougar. He'll probably think that Mercedes is his mother, since she has been the only one taking care of him. All that widower Jimmy wants now is to fall in love, get married, and have another baby. I was thinking to myself, "Geeze, can you let the body get cold before you start hunting for my replacement, please!?" Anyway, I posted a screenshot of her before. How sad and weird for you ... part of the reason my sims don't resemble me in the least. As for Jimmy, sims are like that, very self-serving, much like some people ... Plus, who's gonna help him raise all those kids? He doesn't need a wife, he needs a live in nanny. Don't think of it as selfish, think of the children ...
What's the choking death? I've just had accidental deaths from fire, others were all old age. I just lost Marina from age, and though I let her go she did all the cooking and we miss that.
Yes, a built in chef is always nice ... I've never experienced the choking death but according to some other players it happens when a sim is pregnant and you reload the game after saving and exiting. I moved a sim to a new house, left the game and played her several days later, not realizing she was pregnant, and nothing bad happened, so I think it's a random thing ... Kristalrose seems to experience it a lot. What I wonder is, is the ghost pregnant too ... I guess it also can happen as a result of using the science reward, but again that's never happened to me ... Basically your sim chokes to death. Not very much fun, I'm sure ...
Are you kidding? The Choking Death is LOTS of fun. Your sim would never otherwise die without the ability to choke to death.
I've never had the choking death happen...yet. I'm sorry to hear that your Sim self died. I made myself as a Sim to, and so far she's been living a normal, if boring, life as a stay at home wife and mother. Figures...
LOL Yeah, Witches, I do experience it alot! It's like the corupted memory/icon loss bug that I've had to become an expert on fixing in the past few weeks becuase it just keeps happening to me. As for the choking death: I think I have it so much because my sims just multiply like rabbits!
LOL. Why am I not surprised that that's your take on this ... You're right, I haven't had a lot of sims die. I always include smoke alarms since we lost a mom to fire ... and I've only had one satellite death. Other than the sims I killed off on purpose and one that died from old age, that's about it ... I have to use the smoke alarms because of my kid. She saw the mom die and now every time there's a sim fire she runs out of the room ... poor thing. We had to have a long talk about how sims aren't real. Oddly, this very same child is the one who thought it would be funny to trap a cursed nanny in a room with no door and let her starve to death. She giggled hysterically at the thought of a "nanny trap." Seven is a weird age.
I have Pinako die of that... she was the sole breadwinner, now her hubby needs to go out and get a job... she had just had a lil' one.
