Oh no, I missed it .Guess I've been spending too much time playing with my Sims. I go to work--I come home and fix dinner--I play with my Sim dolls . And oh yes, there's a husband around here somewhere. He's a very patient man .
Mine, too. It helps that he's a professional baker and therefore goes to bed by 7 p.m. Once the kid's tucked away I can do as I please ...
Hey, you romance readers! There's a new column that reviews romance novels, located here: http://www.wnbc.com/romance/index.html In case you're looking for some new books to read.
Is the reviewer you, sbw? I would be really tickled if it was. I love romance novels. Of course I love a lot of types of books...but I'd never read one until I got married. I moved to a small town and they were the only type anyone I met read. I was a book snob though. One day they were predicting a huge snowstorm and my hubby was in the Yucatan duck hunting with his dad. When they let the teachers go home early, I stopped at the nearest bookstore and grabbed an armload and went home. I was snowed in for over a week by myself and I glommed this stack of books. I've been hooked ever since! (I still rate this week as one of the top 5 serendipidous moments of my life. I fantasize about getting a whole week alone like that.) I used to read a book a day. I keep 4 books going at all times. I keep one classic, one New York Times bestseller, a genre book (romance, mystery, sci-fi, fantasy, even westerns), and a "whatever I'm fascinated with at this moment" book. I love Nora Robert's, J.D. Robb "In Death" series. I hang out occasionally on her web site. I'm not a huge fan of her other books but I love that she hangs out on the forums and chats about her books with her readers. So if you get to be a famous romance author, sbw, I hope you'll do this, too.
Nope, it's not me, but it is a friend of mine. Shameless plug, I know, but I am doing a service, right? I know how hard it is to find new stuff to read, and it's not like she's selling anything ... there is such a thing as a library after all. I will keep that in mind, Zy! I too dream of a week like that, and I should be so lucky to have half the success of Ms. Roberts. So far my rejection pile is the only thing that's successful. But I refuse to give up.
