EP 3? Your Opinion Do you think one of the above is a good idea for an 3rdexpansion pack? Vote Now! SEE:http://www.worldsims.org/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=812
I would really like to see the option for us to create our own Sim businesses. Not in the same way as Hot Date, but a business that you could actually associate with a certain Sim and they would gain funds from people visiting it and such. But, instead of having unlimited funds while building it, you would have to use your "home" money to build the store. That way you really work hard to try and make it nice.
What I would like to see is a set of proper patches before any next EP. TS2 makes Maxis a LOT of money, so I think they should slow down on the EPs and fix the problems that have been around from before TS2U.
Where is the option for "none of the above." You do realize, don't you, that the first 5 EPs were already in progress when the TS2 base game came out. (We were told this by the Maxoids while TS2 was still in production last year.) So, for anything to be in a future EP (other than bits and pieces) it won't be a "theme" until the 6th or 7th EP. Of course, that means that talking about ideas for the future are good, but not for specifying for a specific EP #.
I think the thing about patches (and I've seen this myself), is that Game Developers are usually happy to patch, but the corporations behind them have a tendancy to avoid funding for Q&A, etc. I would, myself love being able to own buisness or manufacture crafts. If only I could see Servo once again...
I just hope that Maxi's will not go down the same road with TS2 as they did with TS1. I want to see something NEW that hasn't been done in the Sims before. I also want to see a lot more architectural diversity. Actually using the ability of the 3d graphics. And stability. That would be nice.
I'm not thrilled about any of them, to tell you the truth. As I've mentioned before, I'd like my sims to have more interaction possibilities with other sims. I'm excited about Nightlife for that reason but would also like to see Sims Family, where interfamily relationships are taken to a new level. The relationships are why most of us play, after all, so the more complicated the relationships can get the more challenging, and therefore fun, it would be to play.
To be honest, though I'd like some basic acting interactions, I would have to say "None of the above." Me, I like architecture. Having interesting options for architecture... be it a curved wall or swimming pool, ability to choose the pitch of a roof... those things get me excited. Maybe in some circumstances I'm not hard to please--it seems that this is one of them. New interactions, objects, and abilities never hurt either
Yes! Variable roof pitch, curved walls, and get us out of this fixed angle, grid-restrained object placement which was supposed to be the big benefit of going 3D in the first place. Yes, I know there are boolprop cheats to get around these, but let's get it fixed to work right and make it the default! And add to that the ability to have split-level homes and split staircases (like in a raised ranch house), to attach a ground-level garage to a house on a foundation... especially now that we're going to have cars.
Lies and propaganda. EPs are just where they shovel the uncompleted bits of the crap that was supposed to have been in the base game together along with some half-assed idea somebody came up with in a drunken stupor. The idea that actual planning is involved flies in the face of all observed evidence. Do you really believe that? I mean, I know you get to be spoon-fed this crap pretty closely as an SM, but honestly, do you really believe that? No, don't answer. I know you can't actually admit that. They don't let you do that sort of thing.
I didn't vote for any of the above, either. I agree with the majority of the group. I like the idea of a "Family" EP with more interactions for parents and children. I'd even like to see clothes for infants. Now, wouldn't that be a change! No normal person I know dresses their infants in a diaper and thinks that's okay!! And how about more toys for toddlers? My 18 month old's favorite toy right now is a mylar balloon. (I won't buy him the regular ones: choking hazzards, ya know). He has played with a sucsession of balloons for about two weeks straight. He just carries it around by the string, lets it go, watches it bounce into the ceiling, points and yells, "Ah-goon! Ah-Goon!" until someone taller hands him the string back, and then it all repeats. The next time I go into our neighborhood grocery store and they have the front-end decorated with sundry cartoon charector mylar balloons, I'm gonna go postal!!!! Also, I want a grambel roof for my colonial houses!!!! Is that too much to ask, now that we have dormer windows? Example of a Grambrel Roofed Colonial, this one from Bath, NC Because I can't find the pictures of the one in Halifax. Colonists built their homes this way because they were taxed by England on the size of their homes, and by building them this way they were taxed for a 1 story when they in fact had two full stories.
Well, we already have plenty of toddler toys: A logic toy, a charisma toy, and a creativity toy. You're welcome to think of a mechanical toy, a body toy, or a cleaning toy, but I don't think I'd give a toddler anything that might involve actual cooking of anything. I recommend giving him one with a longer string, then.
well, how about give them a toy hammer and workbench for mechanical, a little water table for cleaning, and maybe a smaller version of the toy kitchen for cooking. And as for the balloon: It's the default string on the balloon, just a short toddler. LOL
Eh, a thought. Now I just need to find somebody who does mesh-type-dealies. Preferrably somebody less lazy than Rentech. And what part of longer string did you not understand?
