I told Amanda about it but she's been busy, and hasn't had time to join. Could you tell us her username if she's going to register for WorldSims? I bet there would be warm welcomes from everyone here.

Just a minor aside after reading this thread: I've found that on this site it's very difficult to judge how old anyone really is or what they look like or where they're from based only on what they post. And I find this absolutely fantastic. I'm often surprised when someone turns out to be so much younger than I thought they were. (Or older, maybe? I swear I thought JMP was a disgruntled teenager when I first joined and read a few of his posts . The more of his posts I read, the older he got in my mind's eye until now I picture Methuselah. Does anyone really know? :speechless: ) Anyway, being able to talk to people all around the planet, young or old, is one of the best things about the internet. And this phenomenal game. :D

Yeah, I know. It's really great being able to talk to a middle-aged woman (any of the several who are on the forum) comfortably, when you're still in school. Some of the best conversations I've had are with this 48 year old guy living in PA.

By the way, who's Methuselah? It sounds cool, whoever it is.

Methuselah was Noah's grandfather and was the oldest person whose age is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible. He was 969 years. His name has become synonymous for someone very old. Lynet has finally decided that Pescado is perhaps a very old man. ;)
(I believe he is 65...not quite Methuselah...getting there though. :D)

All that I remembered Methuselah as was an old guy with a beard and historical. People don't usually turn out to be who you think they are. How old do you think I was when I first joined? (which wasn't very long ago, I might add) By the way, is there some kind of way to post up pictures of ourselves? You would be surprised of my shortness!!

I was wondering the other day what it would be like if we all met up - would we just have nothing to say to one another, or just launch into TS2 talk? How do you imagine everyone else on here? Sooo many questions!!!

You know, so have I. I bet we'd just stand there awkwardly, staring at each other.

Like I've said before, I've imagined JMP as a creepy, bald, white-skinned guy with glowing red eyes and long spidery fingers.

Anybody remember that tired, old saying: You can't tell a book by its cover ;) . Kuponutty, I STILL can't believe how young you are. Have you got the right year posted in your profile? How about 1984 instead of 1994?

There's the Worldsims Gallery for pictures. I think the only picture of myself I'd care to post is my high school graduation picture, if I could find it. :p

I had a friend who lost everything in a house fire, so I've been good about keeping negatives in a safety deposit box. I've recently started sorting through my photos so I can scan them and put them on cd's or dvd's. I thought I could distribute copies to various family members so there were backups. I realized how good I've become at avoiding the camera. I volunteer to take the pictures! LOL! I did find one picture that I thought I'd be willing to post. I'm always conscious that anything put up on the internet is forever. You can't ever really take it back. You have no idea how many people might copy, cut and paste, or reuse personal images. There are a lot of strange people out there.

Just as an aside, I would never let my children post their pictures on a public site. Person123 and Kuponutty should ask their parents first before doing so. ;)

You can't tell a book by its cover? Forget that! My mum's bf (Lee) sometimes gets a little... confused, shall we say. And one night, it was ages ago but I'll remember it forever, we my mum, Lee and I were all watching tv when somebody extremely gorgeous came on. (I forget who). Mum and I were just stating how incredibly fit the guy was, and Lee tried to nag us. Waggling his finger around like he had suddenly lost control of it, he came out with - get this:

'Hey you two - now don't go chasing them books before you've read them.'

I've never posted my last name or any pictures of myself ever. Ever. I'm too paranoid to do something like that, and my parents have never even talked to me about those sort of things. I guess all those horror movies about Internet stalkers are what did the job.

By the way, Lynet, I'm not much older than Kupo. No, I'm not really 13, I just say that.

I have a group I spend time with on the internet. We've discussed this, too. We finally decided everyone would have to bring a laptop to chat. :) I picture everyone sitting at a table typing furiously and furtively glancing at each other.

I picture him kind of like that but wearing night vision goggles. I imagine the glow of his computer monitor is the only light he uses. I used to think he looked like Mr. Clean but once I found out he had a long beard, I started picturing him as ZZ Topp or a big troll. :D

That's good. There are too many people with problems out there. And I guess we shouldn't start with names and pictures in this forum, either. Those who post are nice. But there are a lot who look in, read stuff to get information, and then leave without joining the conversation. I'm sure that 99.99% of them are good people, if busy with other things. However, why take chances? :(

You know, I think you and Zydeco are right that we'd all be sort of tongue-tied if we met somewhere for real. I do accounting. I tend to avoid crowds and parties--a back-room-nose-in-the-books sort of person. This type (is that a pun) of conversation is easier for me.

Around here I don't think it makes any difference how old you really are. It's what you contribute to the conversation that matters. As for me, some days I'm 13. Or 22. Or 30. Or 80. Depends on what kind of day I've had. Today I went to see "March of the Penguins" at the movies so I today I was eating popcorn and 13. Tomorrow morning I have to go to work and I'll be 900 years old. :p

I prefer anonymity. Like many people, I don't really like photos of myself. And I agree that while we may be well-meaning people others can still view the site.

I'd say let's keep it to pix of our pets.

I thought that everyone here was about in their 20's-30's. Eveyone seems so sophisticated here, with their witty comments and informative posts. And Lynet, I can't believe you would think I was 21! That's older than my big brother (who's 20)You saw right through my immaturity. I wonder why Manager Josh put his picture in his profile. But how do you post pics? I've been meaning to post an image of my dog.

actually we're not sure that that's really a picture of M.Josh. He has posted several over a period of time. there used to be a long running thread about what Josh looked like... I wonder what happened to it...?

There's the gallery. I put some pictures there but the way it's organized confuses me :)confused: ).

In the forum, when you reply to (or start) a thread you move down a little to "Manage Attachments." Click on that and you get another little screen which has five lines each followed by "browse." Click on "browse" to find your picture (I presume it would be under My Documents on your hard drive). When you've found it, highlight it, click open, then upload. Please excuse me if my instructions are painfully detailed. I didn't take the time to search your posts to see all that you've contributed here and you may already have figured most of this out.

Others here paste pictures right into the middle of their text. I've not tried that so I can't explain how it's done.

As for the sophistication :p (man, that's a tough word to spell--I had to reread your post to figure it out, Kuponutty) and wit  found in this forum, I tip my hat to the moderators, all, 'cause that's where it's at, Hon.

I remember that thread. Maybe it's really him or maybe he just posts pictures of his friends (or :p enemies.) However, the current picture fits my mental image of him (especially the hair), whether he likes it or not. :D

I just checked MJosh's profile pic, and I have to say that it's definately not what I assumed him to look like. Then again, it's probably not. For some reason I always think that the owner/admin of a forum has got to be pretty old--I guess it's because the first forum I ever went to was owned by a middle-aged dude with a family. But I guess I can imagine a teen with too much time on their hands (lucky them!) making a forum.
