Headmaster problem trying to get the kid in my family into private school cuz its one of the aspirations. He's A+ and his mood usually stays near platinum. The headmaster comes over and i tour him around the house, i shmooze and get a decent score of 64/96. Then when it comes to feed him cuz his stomachs growling, i choose "serve dinner" and make something like spaggetti. The problem here is that he wont pick up a plate of food himself and eat, and give me the remaining points so i can get into private school. He blows off the last 2 minutes just pacing around or playing video games... am i doing something wrong or is this a glitch?
Try clicking on him and selecting 'Call for dinner'. I think thats what you're supposed to do if you haven't already. Sorry if that's wrong!
The "call for dinner" order for the headmaster is under Entertain. Just have someone click on the headmaster and choose Entertain >> Call for Dinner If the old fart still won't come let us know and we'll have another go. I recommend ending the tour in the dining room as it means the silly old codger won't have to try too hard to find a plate of grub If that isn't possible then have the dinner first and give the tour after ... though be warned that no tour points are given for any room the head has already been in, which is why it's best to do the tour first. Word of advice. Turn off free will before inviting the head. It's under the game options menus (the 3 dots button). Also recycle the newspaper cos if you let him get near one he'll waste a good percentage of his visit reading the darned thing. Oh and don't tell any of your sims to start eating until the head has chosen a plate.
My plan of action has always been that as soon as the Headmaster shows up I have someone start cooking dinner. Not sure why, but I always get a great response with the pork chops, seems he likes those best and I get the highest points from them. While dinner is being made, someone else greets the Headmaster and gives him the tour. If you don't have a second adult available, no worries, a child can give a tour as well. Take him to brightly lit areas. Right after the dinner I click the call to dinner option. While he's eating he is also gaining relationship points with those at the table with him. That makes it easier for to gain the rest of the shmooze points. Although to be honest I never have to shmooze with him as I seem to get enought points just from the first two options.
What i normally do is give a tour first while another sim is preparing a meal so the headmaster doesnt have to wait. Once you have 'end tour' click on the head master and say call for dinner. The better meal it is the more points you get something like spaghetti wont give you many points, try turkey if your sim has high enough cooking skills. Hope that can help xxx
I forgot... I usually invite the headmaster to the hot tub and let him sit in there and soak while one parent (with lower cooking skills) sit and chat while the other cooks.

I also have a problem with the headmaster, but it is not exactly the same as this one... When I invite the headmaster over and he comes in his car, he steps out of the car, then instantly steps into it again and drives away. Why does this happen?
Do you get any messages that pop up with it? Along the lines of how he doesn't think your sim is suitable for private school?
yeah that used to happen to me too.. and i noticed that my heamaster would only do that for the houses that didn't have swing-sets. i'm not sure if it's a glitch or if the headmaster just really likes his swingsets.. either way i ususally get a lot of schmooze points if the kid pushes the headmaster on the swing =]
This is a bug. Have you got the latest patch for your game? (http://thesims2.ea.com/update/?pid=Help_patches) Pescado advised the following in the event of the HM just driving off: As soon as the HM's car has left the lot completely use the phone to invite the headmaster again. He should show up immediately and perform "properly" the second time around. Have to be quick tho cos the HM only comes between 5-6pm leave it too long and he won't come until the next day. I also would suggest saving your game right before calling him at 4:30pm and then not saving again until he leaves.
