    Annoyance or bug?

I haven't seen this mentioned before, so if it was, I'm sorry.

Starting with the senior semesters in Sims2 University, you get the option to lock two aspiration wants for your Sims instead of just one. While I think that this is a really good improvement over the old 'lock just one aspiration', it somehow annoys the living daylights out of me that only Sims that went through University seem to get that ability. All the families I had from Sims2 don't get it, and the adults I created with Sims2 University installed don't get it either - unless I send them through university as teenagers.

Is that normal, or is that a bug?

Nope. It's intentional. Your legacy sims are screwed and exist mostly to die off miserably, particularly the elders, who tend to be given impossible-to-satisfy lifetime wants in the modified games There are hacks which can resolve some of these difficulties, though.

Besides, having 6 want slots is overrated anyway, if you already have permanent platinum.

I would agree its intentional because you probably would send them to University just to get them to get that extra lock right? and since that is a whole new thing with The Sims 2, Maxis really wanted you to look forward to that just like the extra jobs and all.

It's an incentive to sending your Sims to college, to have the ability to lock two wants, have 6 wants at a time, and the three new careers. Works for me. :D
